When making spore solutions, I cover the jar with a plastic bag and tie it with elastic bands. After this I smear a layer of Silicone on the plastic. This also works well in sealing the needle hole

I'll have to try that. Had a problem with sterility when making my last syringe batch. Not sure what happened. I think the use of silicone could have a wide variety of uses in cultivation. I'll keep playing with ideas.
