Are the workers at McDonalds scamming the joint?

I mean my brother was telling me were he lives at night they only accept cash.  So a little after that we went to the Mcds near my house and we got food they said it was cash only there too.  I mean had cash no big deal there although I tallied it up after I got home and they overcharge by 8 cents not big there cause that's what I was worried about them over charging me like 2 bucks.  Cause I don't care if you hustle just don't take it out of my end.  Also no receipt.  I don't know seems shady just as long as they don't fuck up my food that burger was pretty good.  Also the lady was a real dike looking chick and made fucking prison tats I noticed she had a laugh now cry later tat on her forearm amongst many others.

I've actually had this happen down here was well. I rolled through the drive thru pretty late one night and got turned away because they said their system was down and they were only taking cash.

I've heard that but every mcdonalds I've gone too at night has either
1. Employed lazy fucks that just sit around all night and don't take anyone's order

2. Accepted my debit card no problem.

But ya sounds like your getting scammed

Well I didn't get scammed McDs did.  I mean I guess its possible the computers would go down this isn't the first time Ive come across this situation.  I guess I should just watch my money when I go there late at night now.

I've had this to happen to me many times. I always suspect that they are just pocketing my money. I knew a girl he worked for KFC who did the same hustle.

Had this happen, too.  And one time a guy and girl in the drivethru asked me for a cigarette and gave me an extra fries and drink for free. :lol:

The computer/payroll system has to be reset every night at every McDonald's. This is done at random times, depending on the manager present at the time. It can take 30-60 minutes to come back online. During that time, the credit card machines and registers are offline and orders/totals must be computed by hand.

So that might be it

The systems are shut down around midnight, the data from the register terminals are dumped to the main system, a back up is done, statistics are calculated, registers are counted to make sure they match the numbers from that day, inventory is adjusted, and numbers for the next truck order are adjusted each night during this process.

I had a dude sell me a 1/4 oz of bud thru the drive thru of Wendys. He actually just died recently I heard.

Anyhow, sort of shitty, but when I was in HS I was a cashier at a grocery store (before I learned several valuable life lessons).
I'd take a pad of paper and write  5      10          25  on it. I'd short every customer  either a nickel, dime or quarter and  tally it up as the night went on. I'd snag the total accumulation at the end of the night.
It was usually $10 or so, but I did t care.

I feel bad about it now, but what's done is done I guess.
