Uncontrollable Munchies?
    #18482959 -

I was wondering how many of you guys experience this when smoking weed. Ive recently started smoking almost daily again, as much as Ive fallen back in love with weed there is one thing I hate when im high. I lose all self control when it comes to eating. Im constantly eating something, sometimes until I cant move and fall asleep. Im not gluttonous otherwise, its only when i smoke.

Its really only a problem if I sit around the house because then i have access to all this food. If i get out of the house when im high its not as much of a problem but I still find myself impulsively buying junk i dont need to eat.

I know most people get the munchies when they smoke but Im on another level with it. I want to be able to smoke without eating everything in sight. Any tips?

I was like that at a time. What works the best for me is staying away from  any food after I smoke, once you take the first bite, you can't stop..

I've gotten munchies like that with this new bud my boy has. The only thing that kills me is the indigestion.
Other than that its great, I like eating till I sleep.

For you the only solution is self control.

lol

i also smoke weed daily but in all honesty i find different strains provide slightly different effects i.e. giggles, munchies, head-body high. But most of the time i find the opposite, because well what i do most of the time is eat right before i pack up a fat ass bowl so i avoid the buzzkill of eating, because idn about you but i find eating totally brings me down a knotch

I used to get wicked munchies but now that ive been smoking so long, every day, I don't get munchies anymore.

I once thought weed would interfere with my healthy eating and workouts, it did for a bit, but not anymore. For me its like taking a tylenol lol

I was smoking a hefty amount of bud every day for around 10 years straight, and of course I would get the munchies, but it just became my habitual eating pattern.

When I cut down considerably (now I smake maybe a G a day if that, sometimes I'll go a few days to a week without blazing) it's completely different. I just can't stop fucking eating once I get high now.

Also I quit smoking cigarettes 2 months ago after 12 years so I'm even hungrier than usual when I'm high.

:feelgoodman: nom nom nom...Just try to eat healthy when you're stoned and yea...:awehigh:

It's mostly a psychological thing. I used to get the munchies, but don't usually anymore. I mostly smoke in the evening and actually have my smallest meal in the evening, and usually no snacks.

Yeah i smoke about a G a day as well and also quit smoking cigs a couple months ago. I do eat alot of fruit. But i eat just as much junk food as well. Luckily i have a fast metabolism so i dont put on weight I just hate the feeling of being stuffed with food. It also isnt helping my fucked up gallbladder.

I would agree that its mostly psychological. I just need to exercise more self control or just not smoke when im sitting around the house. Like zee said, once you start eating its hard to stop.

Oh man, 1st world problems are a bitch arent they?

I only get the munchies when I have no tolerance

When I smoke everyday my appetite is just normal

I don't really eat a lot anymore when smoking. Sometimes here or there but not like I used to, when I first started it was bad but you can overcome. Mainly I find that the biggest thing is to avoid getting in to a rhythm. If you're really high and time is flyin' and you're sitting there eating the whole time without even really realizing or taking in to account how much time you've spent sitting there munchin you are going to be in for a terrible munchy shit the next day. That's another thing that keeps me from eating a lot, terrible fucking shits the next day. There isn't many things worse than starting the day tired achy, your entire intestinal tract is fucked because you ate 12 different foods last night and to top it off you're going to explode out your asshole soon  Just try to be aware of how much you actually eat.

For me alcohol is way worse than weed, of course mixing them is a whole nother ball game...

I have made some of the strangest foods drunk as hell and....ate all of it.

Alcohol is also worse than weed for me too because even if I get a little hungry on weed I can talk myself out of it, or get something healthy to snack on(omg coconut - or fruit in general, but specifically coconut popsicles when you're high are amaaaaazing and like 75-100 calories), when I'm drunk I just want the most unhealthy food I can find and my inhibitions are at "fuck if I care" level when it comes to moderation.

I've never really gotten uncontrollable munchies, but I do enjoy a good munch session - I try and incorporate it into my lifestyle in the healthiest way I can. Kind of.
If I stay far away from the kitchen then it's always easier(though I do have an affinity for getting high before dinner time, for obvious reasons) because I just don't want to get up.

Weed is also more likely to make me want to cook and prepare my own food(drinking is the opposite), for some reason, even if it means going to the store to get ingredients - soooo much better than a late night fast food run.

I already threw my 2 cents early but Uzies post reminded me, when i smoke weed with any benzo especially xanax, specifically xanax bars, i can run through an entire fridge like the cookie monster on steroids or some shit lol  :cookiemonster:

That's funny because I get them too and that's what I call them...I figure many of us have it, but yea it sucks when your food budget is limited

It's also a little embarrassing with my wife who has never smoked once in her life to see me eating tons of shit on occasion when I'm stoned.  The other day at a restaurant she ended up ordering something she didn't like so we switched plates and she didn't like that either so since I was high I ended up eating both plates of food

I'm trying very hard every day to keep the uncontrollable munchies from brainwashing me so I don't get fat!

Hi how are you? How high are you?
