controlling munchies

finally simplified my weed usage to only at night. however this leads to some serious late night munchies. last night i had a roll of oreos, a box of bagel bites, a ben and jerrys pint, and a thing of gatorade. help me.

Nothing wrong with the munchies, just eat healthier shit. When I get the munchies I'll eat something like a wrap with whole wheat tortilla, grilled tofu, spinach, hummus, and sun dried tomatoes.

Did you have these on hand or did you go to the gas station while high for munchies? that was always my problem, going out for munchies, I would always buy too much nasty food. Try to have fruits, veggies, and other awesome things on hand

its very hard to stop the munchies. just keep healthy, non-fattening snacks around. if you care about that kind of thing.

One reason I don't smoke that often.  I always end up eating everything in my house and can't afford to buy more =(  Then I'm stuck eating Cup O Ramen for a week...

I find munchies to be a problem if I'm bored and have noting else to do. Usually, I'll smoke weed and have something in mind to do, like go for a drive, ride my bike, juggle, whatever. If I'm just stoned and sitting around the house (don't get me wrong, sometimes it's nice tot :grin:) then I'll eat fruit.

i haven't eaten oreo's for probably 12+ years. i work out 4x a week, 6ft 165lbs, body fat 10%, all this at 38 years old, so will power is not a problem for me, as reading comprehension and understanding the reply feature seems to be for you.

The only time munchies haven't obliterated all semblance of self-control was when I ate a mango about an hour before toking.  Theoretically, the terpenes in the mango potentiate the actives in pot and get you higher.  IDK if I got more high, but I definitely didn't have even the slightest munchies.  And I always get munchies.

I've never had a mango before. I might go ride my bike to the store to pick one up right now. Are they better cold or room temperature?

Yeah, go with a mango that's more on the ripe side.  It should have slight give when pressed lightly and smell sweet and mango-y.  Mangoes ripen "downward" so if you have a spot that's not as ripe as the rest, put the ripe side upward and the less-ripe side facing downward will that side ripen much more quickly than the upward facing side.  I like my mango any temperature but cold fruit is always nice except for bananas and stone fruits.

ok kids settle down.

as for the mango tip, i'll definitely have to try it. i've eaten before smoking, but marijuana inhibits things in your system that control appetite, and knowing when your full etc. so it hasn't really helped in the past.

im very health conscious other than my late night munchie runs, i bike a lot and haven't had a health issue in years. i'll have to get some cereal or something that can be abused with little impact. i can't exactly get fruit that late at night since i don't trust 7/11 produce, i'll have to grab some healthy snacks and such when i get around to grocery shopping (which is not often)

I love the munchies.  Getting creative in the kitchen when supplies are low makes you come up with some interesting snacks.  *I'm dead serious when I say this* -- Crispy Bacon Strips dipped in plain yogurt=the shit.  And it never would have happened without the munchies.
