Not likely, to be a country you need a "soverign land" if im not mistaken, which basicaly means you need an area distinctivly yours and a government, and a few other specifications to be a "country" maybe if you had a shit load of money and land, if you do form it give me a call.

Yes, it is possible. There are...i believe 4 WW2 anti aircraft bases overinternational water's....and they can/could be purchased, and declared a country with their ownlaws...

Im sure that would be a great country. We could have mushroom bars all over it! You just walk in and there is a huge place with blacklights and trippy things everywhere, very comfterable couches with mushroom tables, and on the tables bowls of mixed strains of VERY potent mushies. I can just see it now! Lol

As soon as I find a way to get $10 million dollars, I'm going to buy a 700 acre island in the Caribbean. I'm going to find a few other people who want to live as a tribe. We'll hunt emu and iguanas, fish for reef fish and sharks. We would also create our own language and culture. We will raise crops of beans, squash, and corn, and forage for fruits. Our ethnogenic sacraments would include ayahuasca, mushrooms, peyote, and hbw.

It is possible, just have it set up over international waters.  However, the current US government would consider your paradise a "rogue" state, and would promptly sink it if you didn't comply with US "interests"

I think if you bought an island you could basically concider yourself a country, I mean sure no one would recognize you as one, but how are the going to enforce laws on you if you're on an island in the middle of nowhere? It'd be way too much trouble to seend law enforcement all the way out there for something trivial, so unless you were doing something huge, like harboring international fugitives or allowing your island to be used as a check point on some kind of huge drug trafficing network, I doubt they'd give you any shit. Definately no worries of getting arrested for possesion or getting hassled about disturbing the peace.

Simple. Your in luck! If you look at a map, between Ireland and England there is a small Island called, The Isle of Man. Dont know if you've heard of it.
Its a landmass somewhere in the region of 60 miles across, not that much more in lenght, or is that the other way round?
Anyway this little goldmine has its own laws and taxes.
Its the one place where you can still be legaly birch whipped for nonpayment of fines and the such, oh,er Matron!
Anyway, this wee place could be taken with no troubl at all as it has no armed force of its own. Layin' as it does i think they feel protect by Ire+Eng. Well i say we sack their little cosy life!

Come on, like, it should be easy. Pitch the idea toward G.Bush, tell him theres fuel there, its no word of a lie as theres natural gas, he'll be there in a shot, talkin' about liberation and freedom for the peoples. Gosh! How the Manx people will cheer!
