I know who I'd vote for

No link for this one as it was posted to RAW's newsgroup, but I'm fairly sure it's from the man himself
Quote:
After refusing many pleas to run for governor, I have reconsidered and now enter the race as an unofficial write-in candidate. After all, why shd I remain the ONLY nut in California who ain't running?
My party, the Guns and Dope Party, invites extremists of both right and left to unite behind the shared goals of
--Get those pointy-headed Washinton bureaucrats off our backs and off our fronts too!
--guns for everybody who wants them; no guns for those who don't want them
--drugs for everybody who wants them; no drugs for those who don't want them
--freedom of choice, free love, free speech, free Internet and free beer
--California secession-- Keep the anti--gun and ant-dope fanatics on the Eastern side of the Rockies
--Lotsa wild parties every night by gun-toting dopers
--Animal protection -- Support your right to keep and arm bears
More position papers will follow; we know at least 69 good positions
Robert Anton Wilson Guns and Dope Party
-------------------- The above is an extract from my fictional novel, "The random postings of Edame". In the beginning was the word. And man could not handle the word, and the hearing of the word, and he asked God to take away his ears so that he might live in peace without having to hear words which might upset his equinamity or corrupt the unblemished purity of his conscience. And God, hearing this desperate plea from His creation, wrinkled His mighty brow for a moment and then leaned down toward man, beckoning that he should come close so as to hear all that was about to be revealed to him. "Fuck you," He whispered, and frowned upon the pathetic supplicant before retreating to His heavens.

You are SO not kidding. Hell, if RAW got elected gov. of California, I'd move there immediately!
And, yes... I know his "position paper" in this case is jolly sarcasm. But he still might be the single most intelligent human being alive. We should be so lucky...

I have the "Maybe Logic" special edition DVD of him on the way.
I'm sooooooooo excited!
I agree as well, defintately one of the smartest people of our time. Although, I think there may be a few issues I disagree with him on, but I need to go back and reread some of his books so I remember which ones.
At the recent opening of his new film, "Maybe Logic", the mayor of Santa Cruz dedicated July 23 as Robert Anton Wilson day. Upon hearing the news he said (may not be an exact quote) "I don't deserve this, of course, I have post-polio syndrome, and I didn't deserve that either!"

RAW is easily the most loveable nutjob in existence.
