Question for any mechanical people regarding a clutch pedal

I just put in a new clutch and was curious if i needed to adjust the clutch pedal. When I put it in gear and ease off the clutch there is very little play. I'm curious if I need to adjust the pedal like raise it up.... Thanks

The pedal should engage closer to the floor with the new clutch vrs old one. If its hydrolic there is no adjustment. If its a cable style it may need adjustment but without knowing your car I can't tell you how to do it on here but there are auto boards that may be helpful or just get a friend who knows cars to do it for you

I know that its normal for the clutch to engage sooner when you replace it.

im no car mechanic though and i dont know if it might need adjusting.

That's what i was thinking since its new and all its going to engage sooner. Ill take some measurements and see if its set up to factory specs. Its a 1997 Toyota Tacoma

if anything you may need to bleed the system, it's hydraulic, the fluid
doesnt compress but any air in the lines will, if you dont like the point
that it engages then you need to locate the slave cylinder so you can find
the push rod, if the push rod is adjustable then adjust it to your heart's
content. if it's not adjustable then you need to either find one that's
longer/shorter (depends on your needs) and install it. I dont believe the
tacoma push rod is adjustable but you should check it and any linkages or
cables traveling from the clutch master cylinder to the slave cylinder for
adjustability
