Bird seed & coco coir cake, advice.
    #18145847 -

Okay, so my guy that helps me set up my stuff recently set me up with a new grow (new to me) which involves injecting the spores into a jar of bird seed, and then when its ready, I make the cake by using 1qt of water for every 1qt that the jar is (in the case a 4qt jar). I take half a brick of coco coir (hard to say the exact amount, but last time it was too much and I'm cutting back) and boil 4qts of water, then put the coco coir in the water until it fully expands. i take all the coco off the top thats extra, and in the bottom is a layer of coco that has soaked up all 4qt of water. after that I dry the coco coir to the point where when I squeeze it in my hands, no more than one drop of water comes out. I take the coco coir and put it in a container lined with a trash bag, and once it's all in there, I mix the contents of the jar and it makes my cake.
I was wondering if anyone else uses this method THAT can help, and if they know if the ratio of water has to be the same as the contents of the jar. The reason for this is because last time there was WAY too much coco that I had to get rid of, also taking it too long to dry the coco. Because the size of my container, my cake took up almost the entire container, and had about an inch of space on each side. this kept a lot of my fruits from being able to grow out and stunted their growth. So long story short, I want to make my cake smaller, and to do that I'm going to have to change the amount of coco coir, which to me, makes me think that I need to change the amount of water.
Idk how he figured these ratios out, but I want MORE space in my container. Do you think it will hurt the cake if I still put the contents of my 4qt jar of penis envy in with a smaller cake?
Honestly, I feel like I should get a higher yield if the cake is smaller, because that's less coco coir to soak up the nutrients I need. If it's smaller, then ALL the spores will be put to use. Am I being way too confusing here or does someone understand what I'm saying and can help me?
I think it'd be better if you knew what happened last grow. I boiled 4qts of water (8oz) and then put in a half brick of coco coir, after a while, the coco coir expanded, and I could see a layer at the bottom maybe about an inch and a half high that was all wet, everything else was in one square on top, growing upwards, completely dry, and I ditched that. I then dried that bottom layer of wet coir by hand and put it in my container, spreading it out into the shape of a cake. Once all of that material was in the container, I opend my jar of PE and spoon fed it into the cake, breaking it up as I went along and stirring it all together as best I can. After a couple days it started to solidify, and left only about an inch to inch.5 of room on each side depending on which side it was. My temperature control was very up and down because of the strong winter of where I live, and crazy electric bill, so I know that affected the yield. But I only had two or three decent sized pieces come off of the top, and a lot of it came off hte sides, which sucked, because they couldn't grow farther than an inch without getting stunted. I want this one to be able to completely grow to full lengths by adding more space. Also I'll have better temperature control due to the weather warming up, and will have a higher yield I assume. I know the obvious answer would be to get a different container, but this one is at the perfect size for where I have to keep it located, anything bigger/wider won't work.  So if you can't answer my question above about ratios, can you help me think of ways to be able to allow my fruits to grow out to their full potential.

They come in with reasonable request so that they can help you...  You act like kid...

Not going to see much help like that.

And it still looks like a giant block of text to me...  (How bad was it before)

I know how to read, the more nutrients and space the bigger the yield just make sure not to burry the cakes too deep or if you mix em up well enough only have it 2-4 inches deep, the temp might fuck with it so try to keep it stable for now on otherwise you could lose the entire crop, I am so glad that I don't think that I am better than you because of how you wrote your inquiry and took the extra nano second to comprehend your post, if you have any questions pm me, I won't be an asshole Fuck face shit dick pussy butt towards you and will do my best to direct you into the right direction.

I can't really read this either(eyes are burning from Violet's mile long purple posts), only thing I got out of it was '4qts of water to a half brick of coir'.  I think this is a bit too much water for a half brick.  Most I hear is 4-5qts per whole brick.  Idk why you are removing the top 'extra coco' and then trying to squeeze it out.  Maybe just search Damion5050 Elementary coir tek.

'Honestly, I feel like I should get a higher yield if the cake is smaller, because that's less coco coir to soak up the nutrients I need. If it's smaller, then ALL the spores will be put to use. Am I being way too confusing here or does someone understand what I'm saying and can help me? '

idk how I act like a kid by making one joke and doing what I'm asked to do, and reminding someone i've made the changes requested, when they say to correct it before they will answer me. so I answered their reasonable request, when the original complaint was about getting confused, I tried to separate it where people WOULDN'T be confusing. As each block of text now is pertinent, and separated by subject/etc. as said before, it was ONE block of text. now I have gone through and separated it in the places I thought appropriate, feeling that anywhere else, separation could cause confusion. but nvmd i'm just gonna get to cooking coir and check back occasionally. anyone should be able to follow my text the way its separated now. if not, that's why I said in my OP that I would go back and try to make it less confusing if I need to.

Good for you nurazz cuz that shit scrambles my brain these days.
It's not about being a grammar Nazi, I can read fine. Big blocks of text are much more work though.

Just break it up every 4-5 sentences maybe?

thank you so much for being a real person and actually putting forth the time to read (30 seconds) instead of seeing a block and bashing. also, thanks for clearing up the space/nutrient issue for me. my last cake was probably 2 inches thick, but since you seem to know about this, I was looking at Damien's TEK, which isn't for me because I don't have a 5 gallon pressure cooker bucket. Also, according to his TEK, he uses verm. My last cake, I didn't use verm and it came out fine, other than low yield, whcih as I said before, was probably due to temp issues. And last of all, his tek said to cover the top of the cake with extra coir, so that no grain is showing, do I need to make sure none of my grains from my jars is showing on top of my cake?

I had already read Damien's tek on this, and I thought 4qts for a half brick was much. But he's using only one more qt of spawn than I am, so that there confuses me. He's using a whole extra half a brick and vermiculite, which last time, I did it my way and it worked well, other than space issues, and temperature issues which were caused by me.And btw, I'm not trying to squeeze out the extra coir I take off the top. I'm just tossing it, because there wasn't enough water to soak the coir. But thank you for trying to help me. If I had a 5 gallon pressure cooker bucket, this would be much easier, but I don't own my own personal PC and I don't got the dough to drop on one. I'll just try my way for now, and try to mix the extra coir into the mix so my cake will be thicker.

I gave up 1/3 the way.  Im not helping anyone with that many questions.    Read, read, read.  You just need to read.  knock down your questions with research.  hard work and dedication.

your basically doing that, but even shittier. That tek is the bare minimum and you aren't even doing that. You need to do more research bro. The link I gave you is how a lot of people do bulk grow on here because it's so simple and easy. Follow it exactly and you should have great results.
