Hey there,

What exactly is this process? Taking a small chunk of an old cake after all its flushes are over with, and mix it in with new brown rice + vermiculite (the PF tek)? Will the old mycelium begin to colonize the new brown rice cake??

A friend of mine has used mycellium transfer with great success. To avoid contams, you can dip the chunk you're transfering in H2O2 (3% or dilute) or spray it and the jar you're putting it into with same. As far as saving your contaminated jars, I think you're SOL.

Yes, I took pieces of the post-crop cake and transferred them to another pre-filled pint jar.

Instead of the dove as the symbol of peace we should have a pillow. Its got more feathers but doesnt have that nasty sharp beak......
