Ghetto outdoor fruiting tent.
    #17968158 -

So I have this oyster block still going that I fruited indoors. I got 4 flushes off of it indoors. I am starting some reishi, shiitake, and king oyster so it had to go.I had a bag of hardwood mulch in front of my apartment so I cut a slit in the front and back around the top of the mulch. I then took some wire and tied it every couple inches after I soaked the wood and placed my block in there. I also tied a wire from the fence to the top of the bag to give them room to grow. It sat in there for a week with nothing. I thought that it was a goner then today after church wha la!!! Mushrooms... Its ghetto but it's working and it cost a total of $1.75:cool:

Nice improvised outdoor FC:thumbup: I thought people usually just fruit oyster bags outside without surrounding in wet woodchips or anything?

The wood chips really keep the humidity up. I know that it will trich out eventually but as of now still seems to be going strong.

Plus I had taken it out of the bag so it needed something and I had this out there just composting lol now its working for my micro farm.

I highly doubt that it will do anything but Maybe if I let them drop there heavy spore load in there than they might take over the bag. I really doubt it but I will see.

I dig it mycofever. The ambient Humidity in my area is often around 10% so I can see that being a good way to finish off some old blocks in spring and fall out here. Definitely post a follow up if it works out.

here is an update. I will harvest tonight.the tears that in those caps are from a hail storm that came through here yesterday. It busted the windshields on both of my trucks and they are covered in dents.
