Yes I watch a lot of movies.

Pick it, pack it, fire it up, come along and take a hit from the bong.

I've heard money doesn't buy happiness, well it sure pays the sadness debt!

i'm not really up on the baller level as some of the people in this thread, but i have a set of logitech's z-5500's. which are a well renowned pair of 5.1 speakers.

i also have a two tower kenwood speaker system from back in the 70s. it's not really glistening sound quality or anything, more so just brutally loud. with the volume on anything above 4 it becomes almost unlistenably loud, i think i got to 6 once and the windows started shaking LOL. but as i said its more just brutally loud as opposed to good quality sound. gets the job done though!

Hey it's cool, you appreciate the home theater/stereo...that's all that matters

unlistenable loud is usually because to much distortion is occurring.  Usually when when we cringe because it sounds to loud its because of the distortion.

If you can properly amplify speakers, you'd be surprised what 100db will sound like

I had them for my PC, great little speakers for a good price too. I have suggested that setup to many people who didn't want to spend much money for a surround sound and they were always happy.

2 Axiom QS8v3 surround speakers (http://www.axiomaudio.com/qs8-surround-sound-speakers)

1 Axiom VP180v3 center channel speaker (http://www.axiomaudio.com/vp180-center-channel-speaker)

1 SVS PB13-Ultra Subwoofer (http://www.svsound.com/subwoofers/ported-box/pb13-ultra#.USAXw_JYWCg)

1 Emotiva XPR-5 Power Amplifier (http://shop.emotiva.com/collections/amplifiers/products/xpr5)

1 Emotiva UMC-200 Pre-Amplifier (http://shop.emotiva.com/collections/processors/products/umc200)

1 Oppo BDP-103 blu ray/sacd player (https://www.oppodigital.com/blu-ray-bdp-103/)

Total price: $8500

Price of dropping people's jaws when they hear it, making me lose my breath every time I listen to it, melting panties:  Priceless

I take my home theater serious.  I wish I could convey to people how incredible this setup will sound

What are your plans for a display?

...the whole experience is (and is as) a profound piece of knowledge.  It is an indellible experience; it is forever known.  I have known myself in a way I doubt I would have ever occurred except as it did.

I will have to upgrade in the future.  For now, my 43" samsung lcd will have to do.  Looking at possibly going to a projection unit, most likely epson
