It's not like I don't want to learn something new, but this is a pretty dumb system even for Andy, I suspect some other idiot requested this and made him put his nose to the grindstone. What a waste of time for one of the few admins who actually code the site / do things.

This new system is going to replace the old system entirely.
It works the same as the journals, except for the modes of privacy.
Why would you want to stick to an outdated system?

Personally I think the current system sucks for long conversations. Either you have a bazillion nested quotes, or you skip the quotes and have to go back to your inbox to see what was said earlier.

The current system is buggy.
Too much quoting in replies, can't do attachments, can't forward secure pm's, etc.
This new system will have many advantages over the current one.

When is it going to be official?
Once all the bugs are ironed out and the features are properly in place.

It will remain in place for you to download your PM's, but you won't be able to receive new PM's with it once this new system is official.
