Delete all function in PM inbox

okay, so i checked 2 things to delete, and hit delete all...

it deleted everything in my inbox.
i had the number of someone that was overdosing in there....

i managed to get at it from the cache, but that could have been pretty damn bad.

can you put in a popup that clarifies that you are deleting all of your pm's?

Erm... you mean like the "You are about to permanently delete all the message in this folder" prompt which comes up when you click "Delete All"? :confused:

yeah, thats what i was thinking of, a javascript window :smile: just to confirm the delete.

has that delete all option always been there? i would think that i would have made this mistake before.

I unwittingly performed a delete all once as well. I was going to mention it in this forum but I was embarassed and ashamed, and I knew that everyone would look at me with mean faces and laugh. :frown:

Yeah, I assumed that meant all the messages which I had checked. I lost all of Grizz's love letters that day.  :sad:

Well this is a great example of why it sucks being an admin. You're damned if you do and damned if you don't. I only added the 'delete all' functionality because it was requested. Now people click on it by mistake and accidentally trash their inbox. Anyway I made the confirmation prompt more idiot proof. But guys you have to meet me half-way and be less of idiots too. Between the two hopefully people will stop losing PMs.

Oh and by the way Ythan DAMNIT!!!! I just LOST ALL my PM's because I clicked CANCEL and it DELETED MY PM's!! So ummmm, there musta been an idiot mistake in the idiotproofness!! :shocked:

Oh shit sorry man! I managed to fix it, but I still don't know why that was happening... the original code should have been correct. I sincerely apologize for your lost PMs though. That bug sucked. :frown:
