I can't let this go on in good faith. I can't believe no one here knows what Electro is.
I registered just to make this post.

"Electro House" IS NOT "Electro."

Electro is a very specific genre, with specific sounds, influenced by Kraftwerk.

Techno on the other hand, [I am not an expert]... But from my understanding true Techno is anything that sounds extremely extremely repetitive and short and only slightly changes throughout the song.

personally im a BIG fan of chilled out house music. listen to anything by st. germain, or add that artist into your pandora. a dope beat with instruments solos over the top of it like flute, guitar, bass, piano. chiiiiiiiiiiiiilin

Techno:

Electro has distorted synths and usually a break beat. Techno has very tight compressed synths, and much more subtle drum patterns and layers.

Electro generally falls under the bigger genre of "big room house", and has big build ups and very distinct "drops" and "breakdowns". Techno builds up much more slowly, constantly adding layers, and there isn't as much contrast between the "drops" and "breakdowns" - in techno/tech house the drums are constantly driving forward. IMO it's the best music to dance to.
