First Try-Green Shrooms!!!What is wrong???!!!???

Yesterday night I saw my shrooms and they were just great perfect color and almost ready to pick but today morning they had this black color everywere which I suppose is normal because of the spores but what I don't think is normal is that the cross-section of the stem is DARK green and I don't know if that is contamination.
I found an article saying that if you take a piece of cotton wool and soak it in water and then rub the area where this green stuff is and if you can see green on the cotton wool then it is contaminated and if you can't see green it is not. But mine is a strange case.I can not see green on the cotton wool when I rub the stem cross-section but when I rub the stem I see green on the cotton wool.
A bit confusing eh???
Anyway I hope someone will be able to help me since I know picked the shrooms and I have 2 days left to consume them.

Quit fingering them! That "green" is bruising from the shroom. Get those shrooms under a fan. Your shrooms cannot be contamned if they flushed that well. You have bruising, not a contamn

I put them in the fridge. Is that ok? I didn't touch them at all. You do understand that this green color is all the way inside and some outside the stem...?So can I eat them?Put them under a fan?>

yes dry them now, or they will lose potency and will rot , then you wont have any shrooms at all

You mean that they are ok to eat now?Are you sure that that green color is ok?The green color in the cross-section of the stem all the way???

I doubt your shrooms would bruise so drasically. I've never had bruising like that. Looks like some of your shrooms have aborted growth and started to rot. Rotting shrooms turn that color green. You have to keep a careful eye on your crop so you can pick the aborts befor they rot.

I can't really tell from your pictures. Are the shrooms completely green? Like have a green tint consistantly all over the surface, or are your shrooms bluish-green in blotchy spots where you handled them?

Did you use a knife to cut the shrooms in half to veiw the cross section? If so a knife will cause this bluing when the tissue is lacerated.

Normal bruising... eat them.  :grin:

Were they green when you picked them?
Were they green when you put them in the fridge?

Don't attempt to store fresh shrooms in the fridge for more than a day or two.

They look just fine in the pics by the way.

They are very dark green, not as you look at them from outside but if you cut anywhere in any cross-section they have that color.They had it when I cut them so I don't think is the knifes fault anyway I boiled it before I used it.

So, outside just a bit green and inside dark green where I cut them and in some other spots,I opened one completely.It doesn't look like it is infected?I f you look the 5th picture for example.

Yes they were green when I picked them but only in some cross-sections and some other areas but not totally and I put them in the fridge today.

Plain bruising. Fan dry now then dry with dessicant.

I'm sure it's fine, nice fulsh, any idea on the yeilds? Dessicant is something used to suck up mositure, the stuff that comes with shoes. Look for damp-rid. Look at the faqs, put a fan over them with dessicant, but don't let the dessicant touch the shrooms.

Looking at the two new pics, good idea, is there dessicant on the bottem of that bowl? There should be. Have a fan blow over them.
