If a kid is out there reading this, going through what I was going through my advice is gtfo and don't take psychedelic mushrooms while you're young and suicidal. :what:

You know what helped me? Changing schools. Running away; the very thing everybody advices not to do.

To clarify; imo it's not always beneficial to run away from your problems.

If a crazy man is coming at you with a knife though, wat you gonna do? (Not intended as an analogy to changing schools)

I grew up and bullying stopped having much of an impact on me. Other people grew up and realised bullying didn't provide them the lasting satisfaction they hoped for.

What would you have done ripz?

Well I just love what you say here, and this is what I would also do and recommend--get the fuck OUT!! Refuse to go to a dirty shitty building full of horrible people who have no respect for you at all.
Thats not running away from YOUR problem, thats saying no to THEIR problem --which is forcing kids to go to these places, and pretending they have an anti-bullying policy, and in reality this is not what happens and when the kid kills themselves the school PRETENDS that it is not their fault.

Central to bullying is shame, and bullies know this, and it is VERY hard for kids and adults to admit and even accept they are targets. So often it is not easy to 'go through official procedures' or even tell your parents or parent, or homies, because of the shame. Because most what people say is 'you should be able to defend yourself' or not be a target in first place, But if you are, you are and that is your fukin shitty day to day reality.

So kids should refuse to go to these places if they feel they are threatened and are not shown respect, and the school for whatever reasons cannot deal with the problem.

A lot of the bullying is also words, and goes on outside like cyber bullying where the intention is to destroy the kid's self-image. So this is SERIOUS shit! But many adults because they are so fucked up by this bullying culture themselves believe kids should go through this 'for their own good'--so as to fit into their poxy world.

I still don't understand why victims of bullying are so sensitive about it.  You're either a sheep or a wolf.  That's just the way nature is.  I was never bullied in high school, I was apart of the athletic and partying crowd in high school.  I didn't care when anyone said mean things to me.  And if it did bother me then they would be picking their teeth up off the floor with the idea they shouldn't do it again.  If your a sheep that's fine accept that and move on, but you don't have to be a sheep.  If someone is bullying you fight back.  Show you will not submit to their dominance.  When you don't do anything about it and let it bother you ARE showing weakness, and the wolf can sense this.  Stick up for yourself knock that motherfuckers teeth out.  You might get suspended from school but people will learn not to fuck with you and you aren't a sheep.  How do you not become a victim in the first place?  By not submitting to a peers dominance.  I've never had social problems with my peers.  Maybe it's because I have always managed to fit in or what ever, but that might be because I'm pretty socially acceptable.  I just do me and ppl don't bother me.

If you don't fight back nothing will change...  Our society is a dominator culture.  Either your shit is being stolen or your doing the stealing.  Don't submit to their dominance and you won't be picked on.  Maybe I'm wrong because its hard for me to empathize with a victim but that's just my POV.

Many who didn't fight back changed their world in other ways and ended up with a life and a future that the meatheads couldn't even conceive of.  Not everyone has the ability to physically fight back.

BTW all cultures are dominator cultures.

OMfkinG That really surprises me you saying this. I was expecting it to be a joke, but your serious aren't you. YOU who have started this thread aboutr being depressed (which some people see as being defective and weak andeven 'mentally ill'), now you are pointing the finger at people who feel totally vulnerable and alone and depressed and suicidal, and those who have killed themselves---you call them, ALL of them, sheep.
If I were you I would try empathy. Empathy is realizing that YOUR life experience is not the same as everyone elses, and you thus when really observing and listening to others feel them---instead of suddenly pushing your views on them. For if you HAVE'T ever suffered bullying how the fuck would you even KNOW what it is like to be bullied?
Also, in some schools if you did fight back and knock teeth out, not only would you be suspended but the bully you did that to may just get a knife, or more friends and shoot you after school. Where does it end. WHY do you think more and more kids now carry weapons? It is precisely your attitude. Seriously man that sucks

I have been in ifghts both at school and in the workplace, but they do not solve anything. Children need to learn to properly respect others and not think they have to becopme 'wolves' bversus the 'sheep'. Shit that is our WORLD. it is control freaks who think they can bully and do what the fuck they want with those with no 'power' and this MEANS that they are the superior genes. This is what the war game is all about too, as well as making lots of profits.
So...no wonder you are depressed if you embrace this worldview!

Look I see what you're trying to say here but I don't agree with it.

There are so many scenarios where fighting won't solve the problem. There are scenarios where fighting will also create more problems. Also, as Ice pointed out not everybody can single handedly beat up a group of big, muscular athletic types when they're small and weedy.

Quote:

If someone snaps and decides to fight back even though they know they will loose, is that strength? IMO that's just showing that it's getting to you. Seems more like weakness.

Quote:

Sensitive to talking about it or sensitive to bullying itself? I would say I'm neither anymore but I used to be both. I was in a very unhealthy headspace at that age and as I tried explaining I was living and growing up with an oversensitive and emotionally unstable mother. I was becoming like her and I was oversensitive to everything, not just bullying. The self-dialogue in my head was a factor in how bullying would effect me too (which I tried explaining in my previous post), I was being conditioned by my peers who I was around almost daily to hate myself. I would believe any shit said about me and tell myself it was true and I would tell myself so much degrading and irrational bullshit until I was set in that way of thinking.

I want you to take a step back and look at what you believe were the triggers for your depression. I can see many common traits between what you described and a victim of bullying. Eg. Lack of acceptance, lack of support.

This. You don't have to play the monkey dominance game, and it's better not to because you can't win it.

Would the heroic alpha males in this thread have stood up to the Columbine shooters? I think they would have shat themselves.

I would say there's a moron way to be alpha (the brute), and then there's a chill, constructive way to be alpha. Bullies who need to actively push people down with violence are IMO clearly in the first category. Not being one of those is a good idea. Learning how to be one of the second is I think a good idea, and people would be well served if they learned the ways of the primate, what works well, what sort of social/body signals empower you and attract others (sexually or otherwise) versus being naturally submissive, shy, wussy, awkward and so on due to not even knowing these primate behaviors are happening. Being physically small has little to do with knowing these things and using them well. It's a behavioral thing far more than a physical size one.

This is good to study and know, if for no better reason, then because being chill and alpha will attract a larger reliable social circle around you, making you much harder to pick on, not being some loner, but a member of a decently sized group of friends.
