ok people say not to timothy hay because it contams easy!!! is that because it is still green w/ nutrients??? Then wouldnt it be a good idea to sun bleach it until it turns tan and thus be similar to the likeness of straw??? also what exactly is timothy hay---grass??? -----------ONE!

I have heard that yout dont want to use hay period because the seeds are very easy to contaminate because the things dont die with pasturization? I hope this is correct. Just use straw which is the leftovers of the stalks after they harvest the grain or whatever with very few if any seeds.

why dont u do a search dude this has been asked so many fucking times i cant even count...
i just read this same question in some other forum...
if these newbs actually had enought brain to use the search option we wouldnt have to keep answering these...

yes, timothy hay is grass, but also contains straw .
seeds and grass leaves need to be cleaned out because they contain so many endospores .(this would be a big pain .)
i have heard of people getting results with timothy hay by PCing it .
but, haven't seen any vary good results .

my dog uses timothy hay,remove the seeds,pressure cook it for 1 hour @ 15psi or just boil it for 1 hour let it sit for 24 hours and boil it again for 1 hour.works like a charm and you can get 3 to 4 flushes of it.i would rather use wheat straw but i havn't found any yet.i would imagine straw wouldn't contaminate as easy,but i havn't had alot of contam problems with the hay.maybe lost 3 out of 10.the more grain you use to spawn the better the 2nd and 3rd flush will need those extra nutirents help it out alot.i actualy got 4 flushes but the 4th was so shity i didn't count that one.
