Hey everybody. A foaf wanted me to ask a bunch of questions for him and I found this site and searched the teks and forums for the answers, but still these remain. 1. Is an 8 watt florescent light right above the container suffiecient for fruiting? If not what about 15 watt? How long does it need to be on for a day? 2. Are Degil dust masks good enough for filtering air for a glove box? They say for non toxic dusts and pollens only, good enough? 3. If water droplets run down the sides of the fruiting container or drip from the lid onto the fruiting surface is this bad? 4. Does Timothy hay Work or not? 5. How much does a casing layer help straw/hay? From what a foaf read its not nessecary? 6. Can you make grain or straw casing with multi-spore innoculations? Would this be suitable to select specimens to clone. 7. Can some one point afoaf to a good simple tek for sterilizing the casing mix (verm/peat/ect.) in the oven? 8. Can you innoculate through polyfill lids? It won't mess them up after several uses? 9. Some teks say pasterize straw for 45 mins some 2 hours, which is it? Only one teks says put the lid on, does it matter? Does it just prevent evaporation? Hope some of you experts can help him out!

That was fast! A foaf thanks you very much Anno. He wants me to ask a few more things for him, 1. What it should say on the dust masks package for it to be suffiecient? Or is that as good as they come and dust mask are no good for glove boxes? 2. It seems unavoidable to have water dripping down the side of the fruiting chamber, onto the surface, but easy to avoid drops from the roof. Are they both bad or just drops from the roof? 3. Is it easy to fruit from uncased straw? Or would it be a pain in the ass to pin with no casing? Yeild aside. A foaf thanks you again Anno and hops you (or any one else) can answer these few more Q's!

1. try tyvek envelopes or order magic micron filter disks 2. consrtuct a drip sheild to prevent drops of condensation from the ceiling of your terranium. water on the sides of the terranium will not hurt anything. if you case use a bottom casing layer so mycelium doesn't drown on the bottom. if you grow from cakes, use mesh wiring or chicken wire and elevate the cakes off the bottom of the terranium. 3. straw dries QUICKLY. i would suggst a casing layer to protect your substrate from drying out and stalling or stunting your fruiting cycle.
