The EASIEST way to hide your IP address - Internet Privacy

Hello Everyone,
Over the years many have posted about internet privacy. From doing things like turning off your Java to chaining IP addresses to connect to websites anonymously. (Do a search for "IP Chaining" and you'll understand).
Well, about a year ago, if you wanted to get onto a website anonymously you usually had to chain IP addresses. Not hard, but can be a pain and tiresome.
I read, downloaded and am now reviewing a piece of software that is what most folks may want if they feel their presence on the internet should be PRIVATE.
The name of the software is called Steganos Internet Anonym 5 . Its nice! And most of all SIMPLE. For those of you who have tried to chain IP addresses before and just couldn't get them to work. Use this program. Its Windows based, easy to setup and very easy to use.
Here's a list of features:
NEW: Pop-up Stop: An end to that most annoying of pests!
NEW: Blocks dangerous content: Stop ActiveX and JavaScript!
NEW: You can select the browser: Anonymous web surfing works with all browsers: Internet Explorer, Netscape, Mozilla...
NEW: With ProxyScout?: Use only the best servers - invisibility guaranteed!
NEW: WebCam anonymization: Be anonymous in video chats!
NEW: Deletes even more traces: for example, AOL, Office 2000 and XP, various different versions of Media Player, WinZIP, Google Toolbar and many more. With cookie management and XP Privacy.
NEW: Faster: Automatic fast servers!
Give curious web operators the slip: Say NO to transparent consumers!
Anonymous on the Net at the click of a button.
Servers dotted all over the world hide your identity.
If you want, your camouflage identity can change every second
Very easy to use: just one click is all it takes
Also includes the Steganos Shredder: Conclusive file destruction!
Ideal for: Family PCs, Online banking and brokerage,
erotic websites, online recruitment sites, PC repairs, sales and hire.
I don't work for the company so no, I'm not trying to sell it. I just think that for all you folks going to "questionable" websites, especially those crazy drug realted sites you should try it out to futher your anonymity. You can find it here -
http://www.steganos.com/en/sia/index.htm
So far, I've been using it for 3 hours using a dial up connection, on a computer running Windows XP Pro.
The "Installation Wizard" took a good 2-3 minutes to setup? I'm not sure why it took so long. I was about to cancel the setup a few times thinking there was something wrong but it seems that it just took awhile to load.
After the installation I was up and bouncing off of IP addresses (proxy servers actually) within seconds.
The first thing I did was to go and check my IP address. Now there are many websites out there that will tell you what your IP address is. Here's a site that will do just that - http://www.urgentclick.com/whats_my_ip_address.php
I went to that site and hit "REFRESH" about a dozen times, and not once did my real IP address show up.
At first the surfing was a bit slow (remember I was using a dial up connection) But the more I surfed around, the faster it got.
I'm very happy to have found this and I hope some of you go and try it out. Please post your opinions.
I guess I'm mostly happy becasue I've gotten tons of PM's asking about chaining IP addresses and so far this program works great.
Have fun!

Very nice. Thanks.
I know what I'll be doing this evening.

i tried it out.. doesn't work for me =( i have a bandwidth router, and I suppose it won't allow strange, foreign IP addresses to login.. it'd probably work well if not for the router
at least it managed to clean out 3 gigs of temp files

Do you have a firewall up? A bandwidth router, do you have other computers going out on that one connection? Basically are 2+ computers sharing an internet connection?
I've been using it all day so far. I've gone to a few sites where the proxy says "Forbidden Access" or "Illegal Viewing of a Website" If you get a message like that the proxy doesn't let you view the page (common in schools and some businesses) If you get this error, make sure your setting are set to "Automatically Change Identity" and set for a fast refresh. This will connect you to a new proxy every second or so.
SO, when you do hit a page that "can't be accessed" by the proxy server, just hit refresh until you come to a server that will allow it to be viewed.

yes, there are 2 computers connected to one internet connection, and there is a kind of firewall up.. but its configured to let some stuff through ( not too sure about the specifics )
when I turn it on, it basically cuts the connection to the internet- I can't even connect to my bandwidth router

Can you ping your router? Can you get online if you disconnect your router and go straight through your cable/DSL modem?
If you can try to connect one computer directly to your modem, in other words, take out the router. See if that would work.
If you have a firewall installed on your computer, it may not be setup to allow that program to pass through onto the internet.
Try it without the router and see what happens.
