Need a Temp Drop in Set-Up

AFOAF has been using room temps (been hot this summer, a constant 85 deg in the apartment) for incubation. Now that its pinning time he wants to drop the temps about 10 deg to insure vegetative growth is stopped. He is using a sealed terrarium with perlite humidification and is having trouble getting the temp to drop at all. Any ideas?

Make it 70-75 in the house and make a terrarium setup where there's 2 containers. One with the cakes n one with a couple inches of water and a cap of bleach. Then a fish tank heater set at 75. Put something kinda heavy on top n the water will go around the sides of the container holding the cakes/casing making it whatever temp you desire.

a/c sucks in his apartment, theres no way he can raise the ambient above 85 deg

when i need to drop the temps to start fruiting, i just dance dance dance the night away.....


it dont really help much...


alternatively, you could coldshock your caseings/cakes for 24 hours in da' fridge.....

or u could freeze a soda bottle filled with water, and stick it in there..... (tho i found when i did this, it dropped the humidity in my chamber due to the condensation of water on the bottle.... use at your own risk.,...)

i really think you should go with teh dancing.... its more fun, you lose weight, and i find that cubies fruit normally even at high temps (80s)

There is a tek out there that uses:fish tank water pump,cold/ice water,tank or bucket,tube or hose.

what you do is take the water pump and hook the tube/hose to it.
fill the tank/bucket with cold/ice water.
put the pump inside tank/bucket.
take one end of the tube/hose and run it inside your grow chamber under the perlite and run it back out into the tank so the water will get reused.

that is just a rough idea how the tek is done(i may be off of some things)
but this tek can drop the temp down tons if needed
