Click here to see yet another of my threads that he locked.  Not because I didn't fulfill rule number three (I obviously did), but because he doesn't like the idea being presented.  Are you mods going to keep letting him get away with this?

well let's examine rule #3 in it's entirety, not the snippets you chose to include

3) Post with content that stimulates discussion or debate. Add your own

the concept being presented, why the ideas intimidate you or are cause
for great concern. Threads without will be locked without prejudice


did "I personally believe that it was." really fulfill rule #3, it does not
appear so. maybe you should look at examples in other threads as to why they
were not locked, could it be because the OP initiated the discussion with
more than a "watch this video, read this wiki quote ad do all the work for
me because I'm incapable of developing my own conclusions other than 'I want
to believe'"

now given that all of your "today in UFO history threads" are the exact same, is it really necessary to continue producing them

yes, i want to add my voice and say that he has a very NEGATIVE influence on these forums with his black and white interpretation of the rules.  a good moderator shows DISCRETION and pris  never does.

i want to petition for him to be removed as mod from the conspiracy forum, he is completely ruining it.  when people are very aware of the rules and half the threads still get closed, THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG!

I think you'd find that to be absolutely false, just because I dont run my
decisions by you before making one doesnt mean that I'm not weighing the
options in how to handle the infractions. sometimes I lock or dump a thread
and never say a word, sometimes I choose a warning over a ban, sometimes I
choose to ban all the people in a thread that cause a problem before
dumping the thread.

now the reason I've not consulted with you on each of the actions I've decided to take for each infraction is because

1) I wasnt sure it was appropriate to do so so I used my discretion and decided against it

b. flooding your PM box with so much trivial shit seems to slow the whole process
  • I dont even know who the hell you are

that petition has been made a number of times, I think the number of
threads about me are almost as high as my post count, the thing it, most
of the threads in the conspiracy forum are not locked, in fact there's a
large number by rail gun that have not been locked, it's probably because he
includes an interesting view that people can in fact get behind and talk about.

now as I see it, the problem is that with all those peple that are aware
of the rules, why arent the people getting their shit locked actually
acknowledging the rules by posting something in their own words as a good
starting point for discussion

you should check out the dozen other threads in this forum on this very
topic, then maybe look at the threads that are still open in the conspiracy
forum and try to figure out what they all have in common

That is nonsense. Not a single mod has a 'black and white' application of the rules, simply because that is impossible. The rules are drafted in such a manner that interpretation is necessary, and human
interpretation always involves different shades of grey.

If the rules were indeed applied in a black and white, ultra-consistent manner, we wouldn't be having this debate. In fact, there would be no debate about moderation on the Shroomery whatsoever, because we could have automated the whole moderation process and made it 100% reproducible and consistent. That is of course impossible, just like it's impossible to automate the legal system in a similar fashion.

you're right, forget my comment about black and white interpretation.  it doesn't change my opinion, though, that the Shroomery experience, overall, would be more enjoyable without him being a moderator here.

i like to think i have a base for my opinion as well because i have been an active member here for over 13 years.  he's a great member but a shitty moderator.  nothing can change my mind on that.  he has a smug style that just doesn't resonate with me.

You would just find another moderator to complain about,
and keep on going until there were no moderators left.

So how about just accepting what happens and moving on?
If you come across something you feel needs serious discussion, then file a support ticket.

I would have locked that thread too- it clearly violated Rule 3. 

I like that many forums require you to start a discussion with some thesis or other original content- if you just want to dump copy/paste stuff you can use your journal or another thread where its on topic.

Uh, sounds like your only problem with him is the rules he enforces- what makes you think getting rid of Pris would change anything?  Any moderator on staff would still be enforcing the same rules.

Solution is simple. Learyfan should be a conspiracy forum mod. He can then unlock the post himself. He always posts quality.

Oh, okay I get it.  So because I didn't explain WHY I believe what I believe, you had justification to lock my thread.  Good one, Pris.  Fine.  I'll add that from now on.  Certain threads on the front page of CAC right now do not meet all three of those requirements.  I won't say which ones, because I don't want to get those other guys in trouble.  But it's obvious just by looking at the first 10 posts in CAC that you singled mine out to lock.  Yet again.  But that's fine.  I'll hit on all three points of rule #3 from now on and you can't do shit. 

Oh, and when I make another post and I hit on all three points of rule #3, don't try to lock my thread when I do not respond to your post.  If I feel like it, I will.  But if I don't feel like it, then I do not have to respond to your post.  You've locked a number of my threads for that.  I'll answer other non-believers, but there is nothing in the rules stating that if I don't answer you personally, then the thread gets locked.  So don't even try that again.  I'm sick of that shit. 

I want everyone to know that this is the first time, to my recollection, that I have ever complained about a mod.  But I've put up with this long enough.  You can only bully me for so long before I fight back.

Countless people have complained about pris.

there should really be a sticky it happens that much.

you would think that after the first 2 dozen threads about how your members dont like pris as a mod and think he abuses his authority you would do something about it.

but nope, you guys dont really care about the feedback your members.

you're free to do what you want with your own website though, just expect less patronage and discussion.

its a nice way to turn people away from the shroomery,  good plan there.
