Are younger people bound to become robots?

Anyone think all this technology is leading to a robotic future?  Wouldn't that mean the current or future generations are bound to be almost robot like at some point?

I think greater reliance on technology doesn't necessarily mean robotic. Flesh and blood humans will be around for a long time I think.

I believe the future of the human race will be downloading our consciousness into an artificial body comprised of nanobots, so to answer your question, I think there's a shot that some of the younger people alive today will reap the benefits of biological life extension that could possibly enable them to live long enough for such a transition, but I wouldn't say it's a given yet. We'll have to see how the technology develops over the next 20 years.

I'd lean towards yes.

There are those who believe that eventually technology and human life will become so intertwined that the two will be indistinguishable. Research technological singularity, there's some really cool ideas in the literature about it. I think one day it might be possible to download a human conciousness into a computer. Perhaps we'll all download into one giant collective entity and have machines that can terraform planets and create stars. Perhaps several civilizations have already done this and are dicking around all over the universe as energy computers that we wouldn't even be able to perceive!!  :weirdeyes:

Maybe baseline humanity and cyborg humanity will eventually become separate species that either live together or fight each other. Regardless I know the future will be wild.

Its funny you bring that up 100 years ago people were saying the same things about increased automation in factories and farms and today we have a greater variety of jobs than they ever could have imagined.

Dude I'm watching a show on discovery right now and its about robotics.

In 20 years were gonna have the first version of a household robot. Its probably gonna be similar to the wireless phones on the 90s. But still, its a start!
