He isn't suing anyone, he fired someone.  I think his reasoning was pretty stupid, but its a small business.  His wife didn't feel comfortable with her working there, so she was fired.  The reason was "Dr. Knight found her behavior and dress to be inappropriate."
Sounds like an ok reason to fire someone to me.  I know if I dressed with a tshirt that read "fuck this job" I would probably be fired, even though I would be legally aloud to wear said shirt.

I don't agree with the reasoning of why he fired her, but its his business.

Idk about you guys.. but doesn't that fall within the lines of sexual harassment? He can't be making those comments to her. That's something a 16 year old says. He could say "You need to dress more appropriate and cover up a bit". But to be like "my pants are bulging". that's something guys get in trouble for. If I went to work today and told one of the women I work with that my pants are bulging and their lack of sex life makes it worse, I could probably get charged with sexual harassment.

Plus how big of a shitty asshole dick do you got to be to do this? His wife seems kind of unintelligent too.. she thinks getting that woman fired will stop her husband from cheating on her, but if he was having that much trouble at work while working with both his wife and the woman,  what will he do if he meets a woman at the bar without his wife? Can't fire her from drinking at the bar

So let's get this right - you believe that guy shouldn't be able to hire and fire whomever he wants, for whatever reason he wants?


Why, may I ask?  Specifically.  Do the "rights" of the employee trump the "rights" of the employer, and their "rights" to their property?

It's never good for good workers to be fired, few people want that.  That said, the whole idea in America and Europe of this "right to work", this idea that people who are asking other people for money in exchange for labor have the ability to use government violence to FORCE employers to do *ANYTHING* other than not use violence themselves, defraud their customers or employees, etc. is a major problem.  The same is true on the other side of the fence of people on the right thinking they have the "Right" to tell someone that wasn't born inside of the lines on a map that they can't move somewhere and get a job from a consenting employer, calling those individuals willing to work hard for low wages "illegal people".  It's ridiculous.



Also, being charged with "sexual harassment" is ridiculous.  Unless you're touching someone or defrauding them directly in some way it's ludicrous that such behavior would be illegal.  Making sexual comments to someone being illegal.  Ridiculous.

The entire idea of slander/libel is RIDICULOUS.  the idea that if you tell a lie about someone to other people you can be convicted of a crime is a DIRECT abridgement of the freedom of speech.  The freedom of speech doesn't exist so that you can talk about the weather, or how the sky is blue.  The freedom of speech exists so that people can say outlandish shit and not have a tyrannical government and court system, run by corporate interests control speech and thought in society at eh end of a jailer's key.

Then again the "freedom of speech" has, since the late 1700s been a non-reality with the passing of the Sedition Acts by Federalist support in Congress (which has since come to represent 95-100% of U.S. Senate and house - Federalists).  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alien_and_Sedition_Acts

The Democratic-Republicans of the late 18th century saw the dangers of large federal government unrestrained by money or some other authority.  The Whiskey Act of the late 18th century was one of the first signs of exactly what this country was being made to be and exactly what this country was going to become.


Fast forward 250 years and it's illegal, and punishable by years and years of payment seizures (100k fines) or years in prison, sometimes years in prison waiting for a trial, deemed "acceptable" by some "courts" under the "speedy trial" clause, to do any number of things.  There are more laws out-lawing non-violent behavior in America now than there ever have been in any country ever on earth.


You have people just plain ole' not giving a damn about the 2nd amendment, the 1st amendment, the 9th amendment, hell all of the amendments.  All of them have been and are abridged daily by the U.S. government and the only thing I could possibly recommend "doing" about it would be to move together with like-minded folks to a small area where you can more easily win seats in government and change some of the laws in at least one locality. 

The Free State Project, taking place in New Hampshire, is just that.  Other than that, I can't think of any way to change what's going on.

Why shouldn't defrauding someone be "protected speech" as well, as long as you don't use force? You're just using words, right?

Slander and libel aren't criminal charges, they're things you can be sued for. So is "sexual harassment". Regular old "harassment" can be a criminal charge though.
