The only reason why I would fire a super hot chick from my store (I don't have one) is because other females who look less hot then her would feel intimidated and buy less shit. It's true they did some marketing study's on itThe reason presented in this case is just bullshit. Who said the women even liked him, I also acknowledge that it's completely ridiculous to fire someone over their looks

there's another link to the story. it sounds like he mainly fired her because his wife was intimidated. he did it to "preserve their marriage". it's not the fired woman's fault that this pig can't control himself. this article also states that the woman was NOT interested in a relationship with this man. so ridiculous. and the dentist said something along the lines of "if it makes my pants bulge it's inappropriate" to her..how is that not sexual harassment?

My boss is an older guy, and he only hires good looking guys (uh i guess i'm the exception), and ugly ladies. Fuckin sucks bro. I've never asked him but i figured the reasoning was something like this.

I more or less think I agree with you, but I also think I can see another side to this. Bear with me a moment.

If you come to work for me, and after working together for a few weeks or months I find out I'm attracted to you, as your employer, to hit on you in any way could be considered sexual harassment, and you could file and maybe even win an expensive lawsuit against me. Sexual attraction is something very hard-wired into the human brain, and at least in the psychological sense can be difficult to control. In a hands-on-hands-off sense (which here includes even comments, etc) could be more difficult for someone with generally poor impulse control.

If it weren't for the strict sexual harassment laws, and the amount of expensive lawsuits resulting, I would 100% agree with you and see no other side to this thing. But given the way the system currently is, it could be legally and financially dangerous for an employer to continue to employ someone who they were seriously attracted to, especially in a case where the attraction was not mutual.

good for you, it's the fault of monkey brained males who get distracted by attractiveness. NOT the attractive person's fault. people who get so easily distracted should be fired.




And I think this is a perfectly fair point. The exception (as in the case I stated above) being when it is the owner / big boss him/herself that is attracted to their hire. Or, I suppose, if that member of management were 100% indispensable.

And it sounds like that's more or less the case in this story. The owner is not going to fire himself, limiting his options. Or, I suppose, if it was,  a member in a management position for which there were no equally qualified applicants, etc.

Its a small business, wanna start cracking down on 711's for only hiring Indians, or strip clubs for only hiring women?  Its a stupid reason to fire someone, but if she was fat and ugly she probably wouldn't have gotten the job in the first place.

They have no problems with lawsuits for being slapped on the buttocks in pure fun or suing if there is a sexually charged joke.  This is just the other side of that coin.  I think it is pure bullshit, but then again, I don't believe in the whole feminazi movement either.  So who am I to judge?  Being fired for the way you look seems a bit extreme, but if you came to work looking like a dirtbag every day I think the boss should be able to fire you for that too.  Probably happens all the time so maybe it is fair.  :shrug:
