I don't know about pot being having pain killing properties.  He will probably need oxycodone for that.

I do know, because I am a cancer survivor, that pot helps with nausea, and he will be having lots of that as he goes through chemo or radiation therapy.  They prescribed me a drug called Zofran for nausea but pot worked better.  Overcoming nausea is a big thing when you are enduring chemo or radiation; I could not eat without barfing, without Zofran and weed.  Lost a lot of weight.

^yeah pot actually makes my pain considerably worse. I had some sever lower back issues going on and when I would smoke it would emphasize the pain 2xfold. It may help you fall asleep to avoid the pain, which is good.

But to my understanding, there are strains of weed that do actually help with pain. Like th high CBC, low THC strains. If you have medical weed win your state you should check it out. Otherwise I wouldn't count on it but keep some around for sure.

Also the paranoia and head trip he might get from weed could trip him out a lot (cancer) so have him go light so he doesn't wind up in head trip hell.
