Should you wait until you see pin-heads to birth?

Hmm...my question of the day I guess! My kitten has several jars fully colonized, only she's been waiting for about a week now for them to grow pin-heads in the jars, and nothing has happened yet. Should she keep waiting until those pin-heads arrive, or birth now?
thanks for the help

I have heard that you should from one person , however after experience and advice I say Dunk and cold shock , then birth, and tell that kitten to do it now
although I remember once I had a jar that grew a bunch of pins and I forgor about it then I birthed it without dunking and it made the hugest shroom!
but still I say dunk and cold chock

My friend says to birth now. He's tried both ways and saw no advantage to waiting for primordia .

So theirs no pins on the cakes now? Have you coldshocked/dunked them? Even if its the first flush I still recommend it. The cake will start to look all funky after you do, but the yields are much higher.

Yeah, my kitten was planning on cold shocking/dunking them, but should she wait until pins appear underneath the glass of the jars before doing so?

So what does everyone think? Should my kitten wait until pinheads form and then coldshock/dunk? Or just do it now?

No, you want to do it before pins form. The cold shock, and open air they get from being out of the jars tell them to pin, and grow shroomies.

I thought on some strains like EQ coldshocking/dunking has no effect, is this true?

I usually take my jars out of incubation 1-3 days after they are fully colonized and then expose them to fruiting and light conditions for 3-5 days, and then birth. They always pin in 1-3 days after that. IME. Edit = I dunk after first flush..

Fruiting temperatures and light while still in the jar will speed up the pinning process on cakes considerably with any strain. The humidity in the jar is as high as it can get (but once they pin, they will need the air). I have seen pins form in many jars that were exposed to light on accident in less than a week. Dropping the temp and exposing to light as motaman said is the fastest way to see pins on cakes provided they are fully colonized. I would expose them to light until you just start to see them building up to set a pin. You should be able to notice this if you have smooth jars. This would help keep from damaging them.
As for dunking and cold shocking not affecting some strains, yes and no. Dunking will help any strain, it simply adds water to the substrate it is digesting. Cold shocking may or may not have an effect on some strains, sometimes it doesn't work. It may be related to the genetic traits of that strain.
