Prostate Cancer?
    #17291337 -

My mother's boyfriend just found out he has prostate cancer. I was wondering if you guys could tell me some information on prostate cancer so I'm aware what they'll be having to go through. I feel so damn bad for my mother and him. I'm getting him a baggie of some good greens tonight. Good thing medicinal just got passed in this state.

He sure likes to smoke. I want to do what I can to help them through this. So that's why I ask for what there is to know and get prepared for. I have never dealt with this kind of cancer in my life. But I've never heard much good come from it. Thanks.

I just remembered my Grandfather died last year of prostate cancer. He was 82 years old. Before he passed we enjoyed a nice cigarette by the window and he went on about all the birds he's seen through that window.

My mom's boyfriend is 53.

I do believe that is how you preform a prostate exam.

Depending on how soon they catch it, it is treatable for many people.  Anon 2, go to OTD to be a dick, don't troll here.

I was always under the impression that it was one of the better types of cancer to get. I dunno though. The prostate is very important so I doubt they can remove it. Mention Gersons therapy to him, I believe prostate cancer has a high success rate of removal with Gersons.

That's rought man. I'm sorry. Cancer is a beast but it can be beaten. Just don't let him do chemo...

Ive actually been reading about prostates all day because I got a UTI that reached my prostate so I couldn't get a hardon for days. Sex drive was gone. Heavy shit man. It made me realize how important a prostate it.

What approach is your mom's boyfriend taking to his prostate cancer OP ?

Apparently they are removing it. I don't have much detail on it all right now.

It's a highly treatable form of cancer and quite common.  Don't sweat it until you get some actual details.

Around 70% will survive for 10 years after diagnosis.

As far as cancers go, it's one of the better ones to have.

me dad had prostate cancer.  he beat it and is cancer free now.

if the following does not resonate with you, please just ignore it:

from a spiritual perspective i remember being taught that "ALL illness and disease (dis-ease) begins in the emotional field without exception".  if someone has prostate cancer that is in the area of the red root chakra which, among other things, determines the flow of sexual energy.  my dad was the perfect example of a sexually repressed person.  him and my mom were never really physical and i'm sure he went decades without getting laid.  he is an old school 'moral' man and i'm sure he had a lifetime of unfulfilled sexual desire bottled up in him.  masterbation would be out of the question for him on moral grounds as well.  it seems completely logical to me that someone like him would get prostate cancer because so many of his sexual desires were not processed physically and resulted in a blockage of energy in that part of his body.

not sure how this info might help you but if you are close enough with you stepdad to talk about very personal sexual stuff like this then you could suggest that after treatment and healing he might consider processing his repressed sexuality through his imagination (ie. masterbation) and begin to be more at ease (opposite of dis-ease) with his sexuality.  there are public service commercials up here in canada that promote masterbation (in the absence of actual sex) as essential for a healthy prostate.

Classic blaming the victim shit with a New Age twist.  Jesus and devils were cast aside as explanations for illness when germs were discovered and modern medicine replaced myths.  Still, the bullshit takes on new shapes and forms parading around as chakra and the like.

classic 'victim' mentality.  get over it, there are no victims, we create our own reality, period.

The Cave Man perspective.  Those kids with cancer created a pretty shitty reality.  Too bad you can't counsel them with your feelgood words.  Go visit a children's hospital and tell 'em about creating their own reality, you screwball.

Shit just hang in there.

Hopefully they can get to it and it ain't too far a long.  Like talking Stage I with chemo and he can be good.

My dad is in his last days of Life essentially.  Stage Four Pancreatic Cancer.  He's been in the hospital for four days now with Pneumonia.  They are about to move him to and Old Folks REHAB Facility to help him get a little better.  He won't rehab with me or my mom because he sleeps all day.

Just think good thoughts.
