It said $750 billion for the federal government. I'm not going to analyze the GOP report that they cite for accuracy. If you want to make the case,  make a list such as...

Medicaid.    $210 billion
Food stamps.    $60 billion

And so on.

http://www.scribd.com/doc/110366590/Spending-for-Federal-Benefits-and-Services-for-People-With-Low-Income-FY08-FY11

The link was at the article.  This has been out for some time and I haven't heard of any Dems disputing it.  It does not include this

The federal government is not the only government.  The states also chipped in, often as required by the feds to the tune of over $250B.  Ever heard the phrase "unfunded mandates"?  That was also clearly spelled out in the article.

You gotta love that video.  But that doesn't obscure the point that our welfare payments are out of control.  Or that Obama's plicies are hugely damaging to the economy in general.  First the Dow craters right after the election and now we have a new "unexpectedly" bad unemployment report.

http://www.dol.gov/opa/media/press/eta/ui/eta20122262.htm#.UKWTPIZVPIU

In the week ending November 10, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 439,000, an increase of 78,000 from the previous week's revised figure of 361,000. The 4-week moving average was 383,750, an increase of 11,750 from the previous week's revised average of 372,000.

More fun stuff on the economy

http://www.readability.com/read?url=http%3A//www.salon.com/2012/11/13/2_5_million_jobless_adults_living_with_their_parents/

Quote:
There are about 17.2 million adult children living in their parents’ homes this year, compared with around 15.3 million in 2007, the year the recession began … And the numbers show that the greatest increases are accounted for by unemployed adult children who have moved in with parents. In 2007, 1.3 million unemployed adult children were living in their parents’ homes. This year, the total is about 2.5 million.

Well whut?  Do you mean they managed to parlay all those Pell Grants and huge loans and more and more degrees into reluctant housekeeping for captive employers and nothing else?  Collidge.

I could find a lot more less extreme spiffy news on the economy but it is draining.  Oh hell, just one more

http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/11/14/hostess-bankruptcy-liquidation-idUSL1E8MEH0720121114

Twinkies are already in bankruptcy but the unions have decided to strike.  Obamaphones are in their future for sure.

Wow that is just wearing me out.  A lot of heavy lifting going on by moi.

Government debt does not equal the economy.  As far as I'm concerned the government debt can go up to the moon as long as they aren't plundering my bank account to fix it.

they will plunder your bank account to fix it. Obama already has a plan to increase taxes. And he is already denying this plan, and throwing the blame onto the premise that the decision was made by someone else, and he is fighting it

It's called taxes. You're still using the Obama card to avoid mentioning that he and Romney are the same. There would be a marginal difference, if anything, between their policies. This brings me back to stating that a 0% income tax (proposed by GJ and RP) is a better tax rate for ALL citizens. You're too dense to know what you want because you keep parading behind the "phony greatness" of the GOP.

Tell me about it. Fine they won't touch your money, but it'll be worth piss by then. Wake up, man.

Enough.  Begone Paulbot.

The only taxes the Dems talk about raising are on me.  I'd rather see the dollar devalued than have to pay even more of the bill for the welfare bums.

I see i was right about you and not understanding inflation.

Let me help you:  inflation is a tax and the government inflates the money to pay for welfare.

Actually, im pretty sure you do understand inflation, but instead you are looking for your own welfare in the form of inflated stock prices you are invested in.

With straight taxes you don't have the opportunity for your own form of wall st. welfare.

I knew it,  you dont care about debt or inflation because it inflates the preices of your investments.

you're just as much of a welfare bum as anyone.

I know exactly why you dont care about debt and the monetary system,  because the system and inflation favors those of you who already have capital to invest.  I know this because i have made lots of money too from it, but unlike you i have a spine and am man enough to say it's wrong.

It doesn't do any such thing.  They stay static.  Like your gold.

And there hasn't been any inflation to speak of so how did you get rich investing capital that favors inflationary cycles when there has been no significant inflation for quite some time?

Do you know what is wrong?  Taxing a tiny portion of the population into oblivion to provide benefits to loser assholes.  Over a trillion dollars in means tested welfare last year and they want to raise taxes on only people who make over $250K.  No thanks.  Let them rot.  I've been screwed enough.

You are a true Gordon Gekko. I love your argument that gold is static. Greed is good. I buy and sell others. The illusion has become real, what I do? Research and speculation, etc etc etc

Plus I know you support no child left behind. Dont ask me why, you were clearly left behind
