Aurora Borealis visible in north half of US

A solar geomagnetic storm is currently underway, and reports of the northern lights have come in from Ohio, Pennsyvania, Iowa and New York.



If the bars at the bottom are still red, you should go out if you live away from the city and the sky is clear.

It could be anywhere in the northern US at any time. There is no way to tell how it is moving precisely, only that the magnetosphere is distorted enough to cause it to move further south. It changes second by second.

You have to be in the dark for a few minutes before your eyes adjust. Looking at a screen, or streetlight will fuck up your night vision.
