Calvatia booniana - Giant puffball? * 1

Found a pretty big puffball today, I'm fairly certain its Calvatia booniana.  It's still very firm and white inside.  Anyone eaten these before and have a good recipe?  Any TI's care to comment on the ID?  The warts are not as prominent as other pictures I have seen, but I'm not sure it could be anything else given its size right?

Found in California, Napa Valley.

Sorry can't help much with the id.
But if you are ever hunting with a friend and bored, find one of those that is exceptionally ripe with spores and throw it at their head when they aren't expecting it.
All I can guarantee through that is pure amusement, as a ninja-smoke bomb of spores erupts around their head and scares the shit out of them in a completely harmless way.

I found these in the county next by. Never found out what they are.  :shrug:  tried them and they had no flavor.

Just an update, finally got around to eating this thing and like renegade said - not much flavor on its own.  I cut it into slabs and fried it with salt and butter.  Then I grilled a bit of fresh Parmesan cheese in the pan and let it stick to the mushroom bits.  It all then went on top of some pizza.  It was worth eating again!
