would it be possible to grow mycorrhizae for my garden in a LC? just dip the baby roots in the mix, or put a quart jar of the stuff in with the transplants? or am I missing the point of the whole process?

That's how the commercial producers do it.  I'm assuming you already have the sterile cultures?  One of the best fungi for your garden is trichoderma, thus it's always beneficial to dispose of contaminated jars outdoors in the garden or flowerbed.

sweet action RR, thanks for the reply. As to having sterile cultures...I was going to isolate some spores from the bag of mycorrhizae on agar. probably not the best way to do it, but its what I have access to, but I will be speaking with the myco. guys here in town to see if they will give up a sample for me to play with.
