but I dont care about this place anymore.... bout to call soo. again, not sure if I should be passive aggressive or firm about it. mkre than most likely.ill be unwelcomed if I show up to check the schedule...

I forgot to mention I clocked in on a computer/cash register.

Edit: Called just now, I asked if my paycheck was ready to pick up and Jerry said yes.

Do I pick up the paycheck and just bounce, or be considerate and ask if I should come back in tomorrow for the schedule? I have a feeling he will try to chew me out.

Jobs are kind of hard to come by right now. If it ends up this was just a misunderstanding and everything with your schedule gets worked out, it might be in your best interest to try to keep your job. Every boss you'll ever have will chew you out for something, that's what bosses do, get used to it instead of letting it bother you.

Well, I picked up my check and it says I only worked SIX hours from 9-02-2012 to 9-21-2012: $44.80. Ummmm, I have worked enough hours to get 200$.

So, take it to the department of labor?

No, you need to talk to your boss and have them fix it. Are you sure that's not just the check from the first half of the month? Go in with your record of all the dates and hours you worked, ask when the check for the next pay period comes out.
It sucks that you've had to struggle this much to get paid, but cool it on the lawsuits and department of labour stuff. It sounds like they've been fumbling around, but they did put a check in your hands; don't jump the gun on escalating the situation.

anon 5, I appreciate all the advice you've given me so far.

Generally speaking, I think workers are getting paid today- How do I ask for my check?

They owe me one more paycheck, but I think the manager is disappointed that I left after calling and asking if it was ready to pick up at 4. I don't really feel like dealing with them, and without a doubt, most of the workers probably find me annoying.  There's also new schedules posted every Friday- Should I bother checking? Because the last time I attempted to go to work last Saturday(Sept. 29th) , I was sent home by one of the managers, saying that I'll be hearing from the main manager because I missed a day (wrote down schedule wrong). I didn't hear from any of the managers until I called on Monday in regards to this issue, and he said to come in on Thursday at 12: I showed up yesterday, and surprise, the manager who said to meet him wasn't there.

It'll probably look bad on my side, but I could really not give two shits about them. I don't have to list them on my resumes if I barely worked there for a month, right?

It sucks that you've been mismanaged, but still, you are an adult in the workforce now, You are Your responsibility.  Have you actually spoken to anyone about your two weeks notice and quitting? Either way if you want that check, yes you'll have to go down there and deal with them, no one is going to do that for you. Quitting because you wrote your schedule down wrong and are avoiding getting chewed out is silly by the way.
Whatever I don't want to give you any more of a hard time, but these are the realities of the work world. Pretty much figure everyone is uninformed at best and incompetent at worst, make certain of everything yourself.
You may not give a fuck about them, but it will go a long way if you at least act apologetic about the situation, and wish things had gone differently, instead of going in with a pissed off attitude.
No, you don't have to put it on your resume, working for only a month and leaving looks kind of bad any way.

That happens when you start a new job sometimes. It takes forever for you to get your first paycheck. Just remember, the later the first paycheck, the more paychecks you get after you quit.

I was actually considering leaving ever since I first started. The first time I "missed" a day was because of my work not giving me a schedule, after 3 times of calling for one, then I was threatened to get fired if I missed one more day of work: I wrote the schedule wrong so I guess this is strike ... 2, 3? It's their attitudes I can't stand.

I don't want to deal with shitty, unorganized managers who treat you like shit. One of the fat managers, Alan, saw me have a basket of "go-backs". Go-backs are items that customers don't want the last minute, so I was putting those away. Alan asked me what I was doing, and I said, "Putting go backs away..." He responded with, "Are you sure?"

Uhhh the fuck else would I be holding in my hands, dipshit?

Anyway, enough of my bitching. I'm not trying to be a princess, but I would rather not stress over this company. I think working at any place but here would satisfy me.

I know that this is how work can be, but it makes me feel better that I'm still young and going to college. Working at a really shitty retail is NOT meant to be a career.

This didn't work out for me and I want to leave it at that.

I, too read that first paychecks can be delayed... But no one said anything about it until I spoke up.

Should I just call the manager asking if I'm on the schedule, and if I am, I'll come by to write it down?
