I don't see how you can compare their competency as president with someone who was president.  We don't know how competent they would have been at the job.  We know how competent bush was.

It's starting to sound like partisan loyalty to me.

If I don't like Bush either, that doesn't strike me as partisan.

Bush at least had some leadership experience from his time as Governor.

Bush's failing was that he too tried to buy people shit.  I believe his biggest, most damaging mistake was the prescription drug expansion but he certainly wasn't an incompetent boob.  He was miles better than Obama.
