Looking at the world from a scientific perspective
    #16917129 -

I have always been skeptical of Christianity and other religions but I just recently started looking at the world from a much larger view point. I just find it so funny that the universe being so vast and untamed could be controlled by some bearded omniscient being.

Seriously what the fuck is this?

Its called ideology, something pretty common to the human species.  We are delusion generators of a sort.  It's simply how the brain operates.  It tries to take EVERYTHING and condense it into something understandable.  :ohwell:

how is any of what you just stated showing that you've expanded your view?

By scoffing at the very idea of a so called omniscient creator, you have already placed limits on how you can view the world.

A 'scientific perspective' offers just as much frustration with regards to the nature of this existence...

You tell me.

I wouldn't worry about it, leave the figuring to someone else. Just have some fun and try not to think too hard.

and our world is a grain of sand on one of those beaches.

and you are but an atom inside a grain of sand.

I do not dismiss the possibility of a creator entirely. Science is less bullshit that religion still might have some bullshit but probably substantially less bullshit. I just marvel at most things now.

science  but even that can only take you so far.  Lets just say the big bang was true and thats how the universe began.  Who made it bang? A creator. When was the creator born into existence? He was always existing.. Then why not just have the universe always existing..

Genuinely, it's all a giant thought loop.. So we may never have an answer.  Watch some physics videos, i'm sure it'll blow your mind.

Yeah I'm into science but i've got a problem with the big bang theory. Chiefly, why was there a big bang?

It's a good thing that all the great scientists that got us to our current level of understanding the world around us didn't feel like this.

We are here to assist, to teach you to evolve as we go through this process together. We give our own version of things only to bring you to a higher consciousness. No matter what situation you find yourself in, it is the power of your thoughts that got you there. It is also the impeccable belief that thought creates that will transform your experience and the planetary existence.

If God is all-knowing, what's the one question he could ever have?  An omnipotent, omnipresent being would have no interest in human affairs or really anything at all but the one question: Can I destroy myself?
And so He asked.  He destroyed himself, causing the Big Bang, and the universe came into being.  Billions of years later we have science.  We split the atom to find the quark and the deeper we dig, the more we realize that everything is made of the same stuff, God's debris.  And the question remains.  Because we are all alive, God is not destroyed.  We are all God, and this experiment will not end until either all matter condenses to reform God or it is all destroyed.

Because Scott Adams, creator of the Dilbert comic strip, said so.

That question is irrelevant with respect to the big bang theory in the same way that the question of abiogenesis is irrelevant to the theory of evolution by natural selection.

The Big Bang is a singularity.  There is nothing (so far) that can adequately explain why it happened.  It's just easier to say it's irrelevant.

No its not.  The big bang is a theory that describes our observation of the universe.  It entails that the size of the universe is growing and was thus smaller in the past.  There are hypothesis that suggest a cause to the bang, but those hypothesis are not part of the big bang theory.
