So I assumed you had mental health issues. My bad.

In my short period of time here on earth I've seen a lot of amazing things come out of humanity. I've been the opposite of sheltered in my life and I've seen a lot of shitty people do a lot of shitty things but the potential for goodness in the human race far outweighs the shittiness in my eyes. It seems to me that so much more good happens in the world than bad, otherwise we would not have gotten this far. If there were more bad than good, I'm pretty sure things would be much much worse all over the world. There is an undeniable trend of progress as time goes on in our society.  Then again, I'm a perpetual optimist.

I do have neurological problems.  I think that makes me very pessimistic about life.  Also I observe what happens around the world and it makes me sad.:feelssadman:

I personally enjoy those occasions when blind faith collapses into bitter reason. It's a liberating experience. Much of what we call "faith" is just displaced or deferred hope. It's better to take ownership of your hopes and act on them directly than it is to assume that everything will be handed to you if you're just patient enough.

For some people loving life is an unobtainable goal.

So the reason you lost hope in humanity is because of a lack of proper brain chemistry? See a psychiatrist dude, life is beautiful and if your brain chemistry was not messed up you could see that.

If the above isn't the full reason, or even if it is, I'm honestly intensely curious as to your rational and though process behind losing hope in humanity, if you'd like to elaborate I'd love to hear it.

What's wrong with humanity?
The corruption, lies, greed, hostility, stubbornness, ignorance, intolerant, apathy (well, failure to tolerate and care), hypocrisy, aggressiveness, selfishness, manipulation.... off the top of my head.

I'm sure about a couple of things. I'm sure about unity being real, that is that everything comes from unity and that all things are united and are somehow holographically all that is. Thus I am all that is, you are all that is, the microcosm macrocosm idea. I'm also sure that by loving I lead the life that I want and need to lead. To me and some others, love is the experience of the one self BY the one self, and when you live from that place of loving awareness, all things dissolve and evolve and really work. There is no paradox from the point of unity, nothing that doesn't work from the standpoint and the perspective of the one that chooses to live as light, as love, as unity and thusly as positivity. Negativity is simply disconnection from love and unity. These are the principles that guide my life now.

This thread is awesome...
I can relate with both sides here. In the past 6 or so years I have really woken up. I use to think life was great, things were always getting better, there was some magical god pulling the strings and everyone had to behave... I never really fully trusted the government or even the worlds governments and power holders , but I did a lot more back then than now.
First it started with my lack of faith in school and the lies about how marijuana is such a "terrible" drug. Then I went into a depression in life that caused me to start getting interested in science, history, philosophy, psychology, ect. And use my brain. At the time I started using LSD (age of 16, don't recommend it. Too young.) And I had a religious friend who otherwise is a really intelligent individual (No offense to the religious folk). He had the most logical rational way (if there is such a thing) describing Christianity to me through science and history, ect.. but I still had soon many questions unanswered. Then I started to really use my brain and I eventually became an atheist. At this point in life I took a big look at the world. The corruption, the violence, the wars, the society full of people who just don't don't care.. and I saw the world for what it was for the first time in my life.
Don't get me wrong, the world is beautiful. But its equally as ugly. The thing is, you can't loose hope in the human race and just give up. If all good people just gave up, stopped caring, and said this is not my problem, society would collapse. We need good people trying to make a good peaceful change. Like Howard Zinn said, you can't be neutral on a moving train.

Don't most of the prophets predict the collapse of society?  I'd love to be optimistic but the way this world is being led in a scientific way is a suicidal and destructive race.  I don't let it bring me down anymore, like reading this book where before dying someone wrote that "there are many more worlds than these" and it's how I look at death.  I believe people go on and the mystery is wonderful.

You guys are all such negative nancies. You know it's much better to be unswervingly optimistic at all times regardless to how shitty you feel. That way, nobody can tell that you're dying inside until you someday epically lose your shit and they institutionalize you.

I'm on outward, forced med commitment and they just upped it another six months.  I get what your saying,  I'm looking at the world more positively than negative.  I think it's going to end in shit but death I think can be an exciting thing and I might as well enjoy my life and people in it for this timeframe.
