Terrarium size?

My fat ugly tree has a casing in a fairly small terrarium. There is only about 3-4 inches of head room for the mushrooms to grow. Is this enough? They are equador. Also the container was translucent and some pins formed between the container and casing...what shud be done with these? Shud they be cut out or left alone. The sides are now covered with aluminum. Please reply.

Well i'm no expert but as far as the pins on the side i would leave them alone. as long as you have light above the casing they will find there way up top. if you have a big casing ( pins are deep ) keep an eye on them, if they din;t make it to the top in 3 or 4 days cut them out ( carefully ).as far as height of your set up it's hard to say. - you could have some monsters or you could have quarter sized shrooms ( .25 ) eq's are known to grow fairly lg. next time go with a 16 or 20 gal. rubber maid as a container..so the hooker on the corner said.
