yeah emancipator isnt as good as people were hoping a few years ago when he first was coming up cuz people had BIG hopes for him

but i still think hes better than ANY jam band, and yes no matter how you wanna put it STS9 IS a jam band

I think that's just because you hate jam bands.  That means that emancipator is better than tribe, cheese, panic, phish, the dead, and lotus.  That sir, is a stretch.  I don't really care for big g either; he always jumps in with people and ruins it.  The ONE time he played well was at umphreys at the fillmore in denver in march.

yeah no shit jam bands fuckign blow in every imaginable way

ive seen phish, further, STS9, Lotus, and disco biscuits and they all fucking sucked...ive gave jam bands a try and just cant fucking do it, i think they suck immensely

to me jam bands just sound like they are up there fucking around, not even giving a shit about anything, speciifically the way they sound...it lacks emotion and power...just weak music with no sort of passion...to me jam bands are worse than top 40 music, its just so fucking bad

Preference for art, fashion, cuisine, and music is subjective and specific to the individual. Despite our egotistical delusions of grandeur, no one has a license for saying what is better or worse. The only thing that ever makes sense is saying what is better or worse "to me." We're all positioned within geo-politic-socio-economic-neural reality tunnels and only communicate outside of them abstractly. You don't experience anything exactly as I do, so to even make comparisons or assume we're on the same page about aesthetic experiences is making a leap of faith.
