Actually Bassfreak, after reading your eloquent so well thought out defense of Bassnectar, you may have recruited me to the bassnectar fan club.  You made many good points in rebuttal to my argument against Bassnectar, touche. To answer your question OP, if you like his music and have 40 bucks to spend then go for it! I saw him once and I had lots of fun even though it's not my fav. genre of electronic music.

because emancipator IS better than STS9

also bc i saw emancipator with dom from Big G on sax, bonobo on bass, and some chick from another band singing at a set at bisco

shit was NUTS...seen emancipator 5 times now and that was def the best ive ever seen from him/them

That sounds pretty cool.  I've seen emancipator like maybe 3 times?  I mean he's good and all but he just doesn't compare.  He needs to seriously work on his dj skillz and put out a new fucking album.  His first one was a masterpiece; the second, less so.  I personally would rather see blockhead in the quasi-downtempo market.

yeah emancipator isnt as good as people were hoping a few years ago when he first was coming up cuz people had BIG hopes for him

but i still think hes better than ANY jam band, and yes no matter how you wanna put it STS9 IS a jam band

I think that's just because you hate jam bands.  That means that emancipator is better than tribe, cheese, panic, phish, the dead, and lotus.  That sir, is a stretch.  I don't really care for big g either; he always jumps in with people and ruins it.  The ONE time he played well was at umphreys at the fillmore in denver in march.

i used to think the same thing about Big G, ive seen them 3 times now, but idk man they were fuckign CRAZY at camp bisco...like 10 times better than i thought they woulda been, was REAL surprised...was the first time seeing them since like 2 or 3 years ago tho, def changed a lot

but dom on sax is a lot differet than him as Big G with his drummer, he had a pretty cool solo on that emancipator set

I've never actually seen big g because I hate him jumping in with random bands so much.  I have seen dom jump in with random people.  So, I'm just viewing it from that angle.
