Was this too long? Will they be ok? I left them overnight in the pot but then I overslept.

I wouldn't have left them in the pot...I assume you left the lid on the entire time without opening it at all? If so, it's probably okay...

What in the pot/pressure cooker? yeah thats fine, as long as the jars were sealed, or there was a lid on it. if neither of those happened i would resterilise.

Ok, thanks guys! I innoculated this morning, so but I'm sort of wondering what the outcome of all this will be and if I'll be successful. thanks!

yeah thats is fine just as long as they are at room temp i wait 4-5 hours for mine and i never had any problems

Just one additional comment - why would you have suggested not to leave them in the pot, neutra? Generally you like to leave it in there with the lid on since inside the pot is as sterile location as you will get in most people's homes.

I dunno, I just have never heard of that. Learn something new every day, thank you for that It makes sense. Also, my faery godmother doesn't have a PC *cry* and she has used just a cheap regular pot with a lid. The thought of leaving them in there for several hours didn't occur to her with her setup. But she will probably do that next time She says thanks for the tip.
