This is advice from someone with a Biology degree who has worked in research labs at a major research university.

DO SOME RESEARCH ON WHAT IT TAKES TO ACTUALLY DO WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT.

If you want to be a baller go MD/PhD.

Two Summers ago the lab next to me had a 2nd year MD/PhD student rotate through. He was a Stanford undergrad that had 3 years undergrad research experience. His degree was Biology. His first two years were Med school. Then he finds a lab to do his PhD in(~5years), then he finishes med school(2 more years), then residency, then post doc, then...?well that'll be 10 years from now.

Every med/prof/grad program will list their entrance requirements on their webpage(as far as undergrad classes go). Check them out!

Having to take calc is always gonna be a pre-req, however it's only the first two classes (on a quarter system 2 quarters, semester probably just first semester). You will have to take chem and o chem. They're really not that hard though; and the labs are super cool, at least in ochem.

Don't worry about "what looks better". Who gives a fuck if some postdoc making 40k a year looks down on a psyD while you're billng $150/hr. Most grad students I know hate their life, even more when they graduate, unless you can get a coveted Faculty spot...oh then you have to fight for tenure...doh!

Seriously though. Spend a night checking out all the degree programs on UCLA's webpage, I'm sure they have a decent page. Also, it seems you're at CC still, get your generals out of the way and take 1st year bio/chem and physics(ochem too if you can swing it), you'll get a lot more one on one help if they're hard for you.

I guess when the time comes I'll be able to easily decide between MD or PhD/PsyD- Med school or grad school. Some psych majors even choose law school! This is all years down the road, thats why I'm having trouble at the moment predicting whats best. I doubt I'll do PhD and MD. That would be nuts.

I'll focus on transferring for the Bachelors in psych for now. I'll take the med school basics too while I'm at CC. Calc and O-chem, just to see where it goes, and if I can even hack it. Best case scenario I not only do well, but learn to enjoy the courses (did this with precal in high school). Then I'll not only have them knocked out as requirements for med school (thanks for those links btw) but I'll have built up some experience too. Doctors and psychiatrists (MD) make about twice what clinical psychologists (phd) earn, so I'm going to do everything I can to keep med school a viable option upon completing my Bachelors. But I still gotta transfer first, haha
