wow! only 13 credits left in undergrad

i didnt realize this before today! holey fuck.. should i just try and graduate in December, or string it out and get a bunch more financial aid $? thats fucking crazy.. i think i need an hour to let this set in. IM going to get an omelet.

How can you "string it out" if you only have 13 credits left of FA?  Get your B.A., go onto a masters, or drop out.

well. I am going on, to law school. It doesnt start till fall 2010.
I could take one class next term and collect a few thousand in subsidized loans.

Or..

I could be done with my undergrad in December, and just chill and only work my normal 48 hours a week.


I really did't want to try another 13 credit hr term (vs 10) + my work schedule, but it might be worth it.


Come on guys more replies please.

If stringing it out to two quarters will actually benefit you financially, and you're not gonna be starting law school 'til fall 2010, then that's the way I'd go. Unless you've got a specific plan to use all the downtime you could have by finishing in one quarter, I'd think that two chill quarters would be more pleasant than one tough one and then months of having nothing to do.

Well since you get the rest of financial aid after everything is paid for, I would go for 2 semesters and milk the government and benefit the money you will get from it.

Plus you can party hardy spring semester if you take your harder courses fall and leave one or two for spring.

yea, im leaning to that rout now. I just got off the phone with an annon. admissions counselor at the law school i want. She says i should stay based on what i told her. I can take three more sociology classes (2 xtra past what i need to grad,) and i will have a strong minor. She says the second degree will help me get to the next level.
Thats still like 2 more g's out of my pocket. Any way fuck it, thats what ill prolly do, but im not deciding today.

If you are going to further school, Id string it out.  Thats what I did, I could have graduated in Dec of 08 but since grad school doesnt start till Fall I strung it out till May 09.

I was in the same situation as you last year.  Could have walked in December but I spaced the classes out all sexy like.  For me, keeping my brain/life in order was important enough to take classes I didn't need in the spring time.  My life digresses at a fast pace once I only have my bullshit restaurant job to worry about :justdontknow:

in three years i have 107 out of 120 credits. as a side note i grabed over $200,000 during that time (legally working.) Talk about busting ass tho. I had a nervous breakdown a couple times. still got a high 3 point tho :shrug:
Funny thing when i barley graduated HS. lol. Just goes to show it was their fault, not mine.

Thanks tho, hang in there if i can do 80 + hours a week for the better part of 7 years while getting as drunk/high as i do on a regular basis anyone can. I lost alot of friends tho. There were also tons of fucked up things that could have went better if i hadnt been so fucking tired all day.

sure did. 08 was painful tho. I worked just about every day from like oct07-may08 and held down 13 credits.

I guess it seems weird, but that kind of money doesnt go very far. Over that time period i averaged a monthy debt of about $1700, while supporting my mom and sis half the time- and spending loads on dates and bar time. Prolly spent about 10k on school stuff and spring break. After all that cash was gone, i still had to pay a bunch of other shit that i wont get into. I financed school because its fucking expensive.. around 30k.

Dont forget that the tax man also gets about $45,000 of that 200 and the market crashed, which i had substantial investments in... :crankey:

Next year i have to start funding law school that averages $150,000 for three years. One year of which i wont be generating income.
Chances are after what i've been making factored in to a timeline of when i started college till i get out in 4 years, most of you will have more money in the bank than me. Thats when hopefully i get a sweet job and start taking over the world.

Yes motherfuckers: WORLD DOMINATION. lol.
