I always thought that Anthony Kiedis was a normal type of dude. I was wrong.

I just finished Scar Tissue, his autobiography, and all I have to say is that I never knew he was/is such a dope fiend. Shooting heroin and coke for years and years, freebasing, nastiness, wow.

I will say that he talked about where he used to pick up dope in LA, so this week, I was on my way home, and stopped by one of the locations... and low and behold, there were lots of crack dealers. Pretty cool that I went to where Anthony Kiedis cops his shit.

Read it if you haven't already. It's an amazing book. It'll give you a whole new perspective of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Yeah I read it a few years ago, its really good. Guy has lived quite an interesting life. Reading his book also made me understand and appreciate their music more.

A friend of mine gave me that book when I was lost in addiction, same with Nikki Sixxx's book "The Heroin Diaries". Both of books helped me to realize that's it's OK to ask for help, and inspired me to get the help that I desperately needed.

All I know is that I never got into opiates, and I'm glad about that.

Coke was a lot of fun, and I can see how that would be addictive... it certainly was, for me.

But heroin, with coke, and shooting both or shooting H and smoking crack, is guaranteed problems for life.

Well the fact that I'm not including all the 10-20 page books i read in my youngster days I probably haven't even read 100 full length novels
