This one is from when I crashed on my mountain bike, and a big rock gashed open my knee.


This one is from when my bike chain just snapped for some reason, and I then somehow flew head first over my handlebars. If it hasn't faded too much, it used to look like a butterfly.

aha!  i just remembered i do have one particularly prominent scar, but it's in the pit of my thigh, b/t leg and scrotum.  it's from my noobish high school wrestling years.  got put in a banana split and the boy pulled real hard on my leg, causing the skin to tear.  the scar is about 1.5" long i'd say.

This one on my left knee is pretty gnagly. Good story to boot.
So it was my 22 b-day, i was living on a base in germany at the time, and had jsut gotten a lil trashed at my boys house in preperation to go out and drink more.
Where his house was at it was a easy walk ot the bars so we set off, bieng drunken asses from the start.
Well my boy decides it would be a great idea to jump on my back when i wasnt expecting it, so i crashed to my knees with this distinctive "throng" sound, that was just outa place for the grass we were in.
When i looked down, i discovered the rim of a storm drain, and my knee had hit the raised rim when i hit the ground.
So i scrame like a lil girl for a while, then walked around a bit, then decided i better get more wasted to forget about hte intense pain, so we did.
After about an hour of bieng at the bar i realized that i was "feelin a lil woozy" and i happened to look down and see my pants leg soaked in blood from the knee on down. I went ot my boy, told him i had to go, and set off back to my barraks.
Upon arrival at the barraks i opened the door to my room and was greeted by my roomate with a "sup..... What hte Fuck happened to you?"
I began to laugh, and told him the story, then he got to laughing seeming on how he was pretty wasted as well.
After a while of bleeding in my bed i decided that i had to stop the bleeding no matter what. So i asked my roomate to grab a butter knife outa the drawer, heat it up, and carterize my wound!
The best part about the army is that after any arguement, if you outrank someone, you can get them to do anything, so after a lil hassle i conned him into it.
Lets jsut say that there were smells and noises coming outa that room for a good while, as i was screaming, laughing, crying, and punching my roomate.
In the following weeks the wound did manage to heal, but the scar is in the distinct shape of a butterknife! I love to look at it and remember the good times.

Kinda hard to see behind my moustache.  My dog did it to me when I was about 10 or 11.  I was trying to get him to stop chewing on something that he wasn't supposed to chew on, and he bit me.  He's long since passed away, and it's the one thing I have to remember him by.

the little scar by my left nipple is the scar i have left over when my left lung collapsed and I had the pleasure of having a foot long tube inserted into my chest cavity while not on a painkiller ( thos came later )
the best part of it was I had the ol' morphine drip
here's a trick I learned while in the hospital
with the morphine drip it was on a like a 7 min timer
so i had to wait 7 mins to press to button
i pinched the iv shut toward my arm and for an hour or so
kept pressing the button till it filled it to the drip bag
then released the tube and watched all the warm goodness go into me
it was :awesome:

Ouch.  Those staples look familiar, I had about 30 of them in my stomach after an operation to sew up my intestine after being stabbed in the bar by an 18 year old girl.  I remember getting those suckers pulled out being rather unpleasant.  My scar goes pretty low so no pics, heh.

Here's a few on my right leg. I kicked in a sliding glass door. The first one is on my calf, and the second is about an inch above my Achilles tendon on the back of my leg. All together it was like 60 stitches.

I'll have to get pics of the actual scars, but here's some wounds that caused scars.

This one, I was out in a cow pasture with LizardKing picking cubes when we heard gunshots. We ran like crazy to the woods line. LK jumped the barbed-wire fence, and I was right behind him. He put his hand on the fence post for support. It was an old rotten fence post and it snapped and went down with his hand. When he let go, the tension in the barbed wire made it pop right back up into the bottom of my thigh while I was mid-jump...

Runs the entire length of my thigh, about a foot and a half.

And last pic I have for now is where a broken microscope coverslip went into my finger. A lot of people on here were calling me a pussy for saying that I needed a stich or two. Turns out that the glass went it so deep(~7mm) that it damaged a nerve and 8 months later I still have no sense of touch on the side of my finger after the middle joint.

I need a camera, when i was little i had so many stitches the docs would think i was beaten or somethin hahaha. lemme make a list here, working from top to bottom:

1 - half in scar on very top of skull, from a flying stick fight.
2 - small scar on/in eyebrow, was too small to really remember but i think i hit a marble window sill somehow
3 - good 1.5in or so on very bottom of chin, was in pool an jumped up catch a ball, turned 180 in the air and came down on the edge of pool.
3.5 - reopened said scar falling off a taco bell cocktail table style chair. those really tall bar style chairs.
4 - 1.5in scar runnin down my thumb to my palm, wound was at least twice as long, from tryin to cut the hook off a glowstick while rollin, didnt hurt at all haha.
5 - 3-4in runnin across left knee cap, somehow fell in a small ditch while at a construction site and somehow sliced my knee cleaner than a scapel could have done it, or so the doctor said. we could find nothing but dirt in the ditch. looked like a pitcher was pouring blood down my shin. think i was about 9
6 - left foot, top, right at the bend, have a wicked looking scar from some sort of cyst that was removed. looks like a catapillar cause you can see the scar line and all the side holes from stitches.
7 - right foot, same spot, smaller .25in scar from a home made javelin being thrown at me by my brother. -one of those hollow handle survival knifes with a weighted pole taped in it.

only one broken bone though and that was a toe. i seem to lacerate myself more than anything. guess i was one clumsy ass kid. kinda surprised im still alive, cause i remember playin pass with a javelin, and shooting arrows at each other for no reason. maybe i died and i just dont know it hahaha.

Well hopefully this doesn't scare anybody, but I have a lot of scars on my arm.  Had a rough time when I was a teenager with depression and self-injury, but I am 100% recovered and now I think of my scars as my tiger stripes.  I am not shy about them and I talk about them with anyone who asks.  Since I'm a photographer, I have done photos of them to help myself heal and move forward...

not the best picture (it's really hard to take one with flash because my skin reflects the light and without flash you just can't see it, this is the best i could do). it has also faded quite nicely with time, it's been almost 11 years now. the scar goes from the bottom of my right knee and along the shin; it's a little over 3 1/2" long and indented (it's shrunk and faded now, i really should have taken pictures when it was healing, or better yet when i was still in the hospital and it was open and you could see inside the bone, that was pretty trippy). i have absolutely no feeling where the scar is, it's basically scar tissue over bone in the middle of it, though. i also have some nice scars on either side of my left knee from surgery to close the growth plate of that knee as the growth plate in the other knee closed prematurely due to a serious bone infection (osteomialitis). this was done so that i would not grow lopsided. the scars mentioned are probably my worst out of the many many scars that i have, with the one pictured being the worst. i used to be extremely self-conscious of it, as i was fairly young when it all happened. i've grown to kind of like it over the years though, and it's a pretty good story in full as well which i will not get into tonight.

i also have a pretty decent scar running up my right thigh from a fence jumping accident due to me having bouts of extreme retardation from time to time.

Bom: i would like to see pictures of your scar now, i bet it's healing nicely. :laugh:

haha! it kind of does. it's not a gunshot wound, it's the result of 3 surgeries in the course of 3 weeks, mass amounts of antibiotics and pain killers and 7 months of physical therapy.

i think so.

it was just morphine though. what was cool is that i didn't have to push a button, i had a constant drip, which is probably why i only remember bits and pieces of my stay in the hospital.

got two frankenstein scars on both sides of my lower arm where pins and plates were drilled into my bones, and a splotch of scar tissue between them where the bone punctured the skin.

my elbows are pink and purple from repeated slamming

i have a second knee underneath my right knee from falling on it continuously

a lump of scar tissue under the skin on my left ankle

my shins are covered in white cris crosses of contact

and this little lovely

Yes, I am a chick.  At the time, I had no idea other people cut themselves as well.  I was only 15 and 16 when I did them all.  All I knew was I felt a very, very strong urge to hurt myself, and when I did, I felt better almost instantly.  It's hard for other people to understand, but it's a very compelling drive.  It was almost like a drug addiction, but this was before I had ever tried drugs.  In the end, psychedelics have helped me more than anti-depressants, so I no longer take any medication.  But I don't mind having the scars, in fact I rather like them.  They are a part of me and my past now.

Man, some of these scars are pretty gnarly.  I've got a lot of stretch mark scars from where I used to be big and fat. :fatman: But those are the only impressive scars I really have.

I have scars like the pic from envisionary333 all over my legs torso and arms.

Along with that I used to jump snowmachines way too far to be safe and broke just about every bone in my body one way or another.  Lots of surgery scars to go with that too.
