Because we can.
Although if we were to use the same logic for others that we use for Cuba, there'd be a lot more embargoes.

Ummm...there's a dictator that executes people for trying to escape his tyranny with out trial. I don't know but that MIGHT be the reason. No embargo would give him more power. But hey, as long as you can smoke cubans it's ok to torture and execute people.

cuban cigars blow anyway. all the good growers and rollers left cuba when castro took over, and the now state-owned cuban cigar industry blows. cigars from the dominican republic, honduras, and alot of other countries are far better now. cuban sugar... now that's a quality export. that and hotels and tourism and stuff. cuba's beaches are nice i hear.
