My daughters third birthday is on the 29th of July. We always throw her a little party with family mainly. Nothing big, like a cook out. I always man the grill etc. so I am just waking up looking at the invitations she sent out and see that she has her party on the 21st....wtf? I've had fucking all good tickets for like two months. I don't see how this little detail has slipped past her and I. We live together for fucks sake. Goddamit. I feel she did this on some level because she is not on going to the fest and I've been patiently waiting to cut the fuck loose for like three days solid. I'm a little pissed. Like really? Her birthday is on the weekend after fucking allgood, having it then would be no prob. I missed electric forest due to similar shit my old lady scheduled overlapping. It is as though if I go to what I planned on doing I'm a dick because she conveniently schedules events right when I am going to a festival. I don't do shit all year until festival season. Just venting......

Ask her why you were not consulted about the schedule for the birthday party? Since you were left out, and she made the decision, she must change it and reschedule the party, sounds like you might be left out of a lot of decisions.

How often does she get to go out? Or is it a scenario where she usually takes care of the kid, and she will still be taking care of the kid while you go to the festival or whatever and have fun without her?

The reason I ask is that my personal observations over time of couples having issues is that women tend to be passive-aggressive if they assume you don't naturally care about something.

So if it were the case that you never watch the kid while she gets to go out, or you never pay a baby sitter so she can go out and do stuff with you, then she would probably assume that you don't care about her needs to take a break sometimes. Thus she would likely get passive-aggressive and do the whole if-I-can't-then-you-can't thing.

Like I'm wondering if she would have picked that date if the plan was that the kid will stay with a relative or something and she would be going out with you.

I don't know jack about your situation, so maybe she does get to go out regularly and take a break from parenthood on occasion, or maybe you do take her out to do things just the two of you. But, if that is not the case, I would say like a 90% chance that her behavior is from what I described above.
