ways to get the same satisfaction as playing video games?

What are your alternatives?

Games are a love/hate relationship for me.  I fully see the lack of value and fruitfulness, but they scratch the itch of mindless distraction and a sensation that I am accomplishing something.

I go through phases of giving up all games together, and than trying out a bunch, finding 1 that is mildly entertaining, and then geeking out on it for a month or so.

That's what hobbies are for dude. Wasting your spare time while enjoying yourself. Try some shit that looks interesting maybe something you can do with a buddy too
I started dragging my ass to the gym and next Paycheck I'll probably get a skateboard. I have way to much spare time and I wanna cave my skull in when stuck at home so I look forward to seeing everybodys answers maybe I'll get another excuse to get out.

I get similar satisfaction exploring the woods.
Foraying, constructing shelters, capturing nature's beauty through art.
Stuff along those lines.

I do this both for an income, as well as a hobby.  I actually have a decent handful of hobbies, not sure it does not give the same satisfaction.

and Acaterpillar , I go into the woods often as well.  in fact, just today I went on a walk through the woods and hung out at a river for a few hours.  Then came back home and took care of gardening.

i dunno what my problem is  lol  :lol:

You know...you can play SNES games on a Wee, with fast forward, filtering, and arguably a kewler controller.

ganjfather : I wish I could see it as simple as that.  I have an "always want more" complex.  Striving to do something more rewarding/progressive.  But also a bit lazy.  I realize it is my own doings.

I really wish there was a way to do something recreationally that also generates income.  :rofl2:  suppose I am dreaming.

There are some real skills in gaming, specially critical thinking, economy, and hand/eye coordination.

You just need the Homebrew Channel with Snes9x, and get yourself a Classic Controller.  The games are all over the internet, but I have most of the good ones already I could upload em' somewhere for you.  :laugh:

play guitar,
post shit on this site,
read books about crazy things
make an attempt at learning sacred geometry
& wire wrap/looks for deals on rocks to wire wrap
