playing old video games

I grew up on NES, sega master system and genesis.
I keep having happy memories of playing certain games. I download the emulators online that let you play the systems on the computer. When I play the games on my computer they aren't fun really anymore. Playing some of them sort of made me sad.

hell ya.  I found my old nintendo a couple of months back tht was under the house for like 8 years...and it still works


metroid
paper boy
guardian legend
Zelda 1 and 2
dragon warrior 1 and 2
tecmo bowl
super dodge ball
and  the list goes on!!!!!

Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.

There's a few for every system made. I just search on google. The game files themselves are called 'roms'.

yeah, Nintendo was the first system I got. Mario and duck hunt w/ the gun.. and all that good stuff from back in the day. :smile:

yea, emulators suck untill you get a controler that's small, square, and uncomfortable.... then they start rockin.... it's all about the controls.

playing nintendo games on a keyboard just isn't right

you have to go to computer store, and buy a controller.. plug into usb.. bam

There are people out there that if you send em a few dvd-rs or like 15+ cdrs they will put every mame rom on them (thousands).

I got a deal on eBay, 2 controllers (PS1/PS2 controllers) that work on Playstations but they also have the USB connector so I can hook it up to the computer and play NES, SNES, GB, etc. games, just look up "PC USB Controller" on ebay. I wonder if they have adapters for the old NES controllers, then you could get that blocky controller and play the old games.

Well of course they're not as fun, i mean anyone old enough to remember pong like myself..( Ripple can tell ya i'm sure hehe) but i mean it's the lamest thing in the world in comparison to modernday video games.

Shit, they didn't even have video games when I was really little.  I remember when my dad brought home a "pong" system.  First commercial video game system, I think.  We were all in awe that we could actually interact with the TV!! :shocked:

I had an Atari 2600 when I was in High School.  That was the shit then! :crazy:

Contra and the Mario games or the old nintendo are the shit! i still have all my old systems and play them every once in awhile.

My favorite NES games are Ikari Warriors and Wizards and Warriors. Not cause they are the best games necessarily but I just remember the fun times I had playing with friends at different times in my childhood. I haven't tried playing them again yet though, they probably suck.
