Zoo med Hygrotherm controller question
    #16436102 -

I just finished building my humidifier and now I am curious what methods people have of controlling theirs.  More specifically, I have this unit already, and was wondering if someone could think of a way to integrate it.

The reason this is an issue is as follows; the humidifier runs off the squirrel cage blower AND the (not pictured) ultrasonic humidifier inside the barrel.  How can I set them up so as to humidify my GH.  I am kinda stumped on this one, other than running them both in tandem, which may cause the blower to exceed the humidifying capabilities of the ultrasonic.

Thanks for your input everyone.

You get rid of that, place the humidifier on the floor of the greenhouse shooting straight up, and leave the flap open or cut a few windows or slits in the sides of the greenhouse for fresh air exchange.

Indeed, though I hardly think I will need to run this thing 24/7, so some method of control is needed.  I have some adjustable velcro windows with which to adjust airflow.  Could you enlighten me a bit more as to why you recommended such things RR?  Are you saying to setup  the humidifier inside the GH?  would the blower motor encounter issues being electrical and in a very high humidity environment?

Surely someone has had to have used the zoomed product previously or something similar.

I like the hygrotherm, works great.
My greenhouse is more of a humidity tent, I run it at 75% RH and use dubtubs inside.

You make it all possible. Doesn't it feel good?

A quick search will reveal I've typed that answer a few hundred times at least so it's easy to find with the search posts feature at the top of the page.  I've also posted links to cycle timers, which will allow you to dial it in perfectly.  Since humid air is lighter than dry air, the humidifier should always be on the floor, and you don't want it on a bottom shelf or the mist will just condense on the shelf above and rain back down, making a mess.  Set it beside the shelves so it can shoot straight up.

A quick search did not reveal the answer you typed a few hundred times.  As per the rules of this forum I would not have posted a thread had the answer been found utilizing the omnipotent search bar.  So if you could aid me further, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the last bit of information, it seems counter-intuitive to anyone who doesn't have some chemistry under their belt.
