A recurring vision that is synonymous with what I think of as happiness
    #16397751 -

Once in a while I have a sort of vision. In the vision I see a bedroom in the second story of a large house. The window is open and golden sunlight spills in from the beautiful blue sky and the curtains flap lazily in the wind. Outside is the green of rurality. The sound of music floats up from downstairs (perhaps music played on a piano or acoustic guitar or even just from a stereo). I also imagine the sounds of children laughing and running. That's it. I mean, it's nothing extraordinary and it's not a forceful vision. It's just something that finds its way into my thoughts when things get calm and quiet. I just got a lump in my throat thinking about it. I can't really explain why but I think of happiness when the vision comes to mind.

It might relate to a time when I was younger before my parents got divorced. We lived in a big beautiful two story blue house in the country with a wrap around porch. I don't really recall much from those days except a few select memories.

Honestly though, I think the vision has more to do with me longing for some possible future. Maybe I'm just yearning to start a family as I get older (I'll be 27 in August). It could just be a reaction to living a lonely life for the past 5 years or so. I'll have to figure out how to let myself get involved in an intimate relationship (something that frightens me more than it should, I think).

I wonder if anybody can relate to this.

Thank you for sharing that.

I can relate, we're pretty much the same age. I think of it as a symptom of a climate or condition(there are multitudes with varying contents...) in the sub/unconscious realm/level, one that's probably been there for some time; as long as there have been perceivers to judge a former setting against a current setting with a nostalgic reflection.

pure scenes of the innocent yesteryear filled with green pastures and golden hues, in contrast to an emergent future of mechanization characterized by dark chrome and grey/black hues

It's the colors... there's something about the colors. I'm looking at it with an artist's sensitivity I think. Happiness just seems like such an ideal, one that I'm desperate to experience. I think I'm going about it wrong although I'm not sure how.

I'm wanting to be cocooned in a place where there's no anxiety and where I don't constantly think about where I'd rather be.

I can heavily relate to you with this, and for age reference I am 20.

I recommend one night (when you have the time, I know its hard to find time for this type of thing... but its worth it...) you just lay down early, before you are ready to go to sleep and are actually tired, and just lay down in your bed.  Turn your TV off, turn everything off and just lay in bed and lay there.  Lay there and relax and let it all go from there... maybe even replay this in your mind...

I guarantee you will find the rest of this "vision".

every time i think of "happiness.." whatever that may be.., i think of this one time I spent with my ex gf 8 years ago.. i can kind of relate to this in a way but other than what your saying.. other than my one vision and actually believing in true happiness.. i honestly believe that happiness dont even exist.. atleast in my perspective.
