Can you dry shrooms like this?

Hi I just came up with an idea... Would it be faster to dry your shroom friends by hanging them up in a string, like you do with flowers etc. Like this:


I might sound like a complete moron now but i'll take the risk! (bad picture maybe but i hope you get the idea!!)

I think they would rot before they got cracker dry it is a fungus afterall. Just use desiccant or a box fan.

since cubes shrink so much during drying I would not recommend this method. I would suggest fan drying for a day than moving them to a damp rid container. Hanging them up is just not necessary. The reason growers do this with flowers or cannabis is to let the rest of the nutrients and water left in the plant make it to the buds, fruit or flowers. Since mushrooms are made up of mostly water in the first place there is no need to harness the moisture like you would with a plant.

Just seems like less than optimal condition although your drawing is quite interesting.

Ok now when I think of it I realize why it's a bad idea... I was thinking of shrooms like plants too much x)

Right, shrooms are completely different from plants. :yesnod:

However, I do LOVE how you used MS paint to draw us some schematics. I literally started cracking up. :thumbup:

But yes, a box fan would work just fine. :cheers:

If you are trying to preserve the shape as much as possible this method might work with safety pins or clothes pins holding the shrooms and a fan or two blowing on them.

inefficient though.

Haha im glad you find my drawing entertaining! I've already forgot why I thought this was a great idea a few hours ago but oh well.. (this is the first time I grow my own shroomies btw im a total beginner)
